Jenny I have missed using the hug sign, sad I know. I don't hun sorry but I am always here in a virtual sense I know it's not the same though but my inbox is always open.
December 25th was naughty of Ellie as it rudely interrupted your Xmas dinner! She's gonna be expensive though as she will be ensuring she gets a double number of gifts as its her birthday & Christmas day! Once she can count properly !
I meant to ask did she get on with the new formula?

oh the soya went down badly so returned to aptimal first milk. as well as having the runs she was also very sicky! she seems to be more sicky now anyway but less that the day we used soya!

Ellie came after christmas dinner i think the weight of the turkey pushed her out and i blame the stuffing for needing a drip that stuff soaks up fluid so well!

Well Christmas presents wont be a problem she will get one birthday pressie from me on christmas day and the rest will be Christmas pressies and she wont get any birthday cards on xmas day.

We will celebrate her birthday big style on the 10th March which will mark a year after her discharge from hospital after the heart operation that saved her life. She weighed 10lb when she was born dropped to 9lb 9oz and before we left the hospital when she was 15 weeks old she was 10lb!! lol she is a funny thing..

:EasterBun i like this symbol best!!

Hey all! Ro, Mozzy! Nice to see some people on here. I promise to try and hang out here a bit more too- its tricky on my phone, so will only really be evening lap top time.

ToniQ, wow. sounds like LO is doing really well. Sounds pretty like Claudia- She is up at 98%ile for weight, and 99.5ile for height, and well fits her 6-9month clothes. She was a bit tubbier, but seems to be thinning out a bit now she is getting even taller! We started weaning at 4m 3w when she started grabbing food off my plate. She is going really well. We are doing 2 BLW meals a day. One early lunch, something like minced lamb and mint sausages (homemade), with some king of steamed veg, and then in the afternoon, maybe a little plain yoghurt with fruit puree, and fruit wedges, or toasted pitta with cream cheese. So far, we haven't found anything she hasn't had a go at.
I love watching her with her food, she is starting to really examine everything and move things between her hands to get the best grip. So cute!

Ro, we are still trying to get CJ to take milk other than BF. The new NUK first trainer bottles seem to be going down better than anything else we've tried. She likes holding it herself, but hasn't quite got the angle to drink from it when she holds it yet.

I've got a little list of things to get before weaning. One thing, those rubber crumb catcher bibs, oh, and seem some great cheap plastic tablecloths for floor on EBay.
A poon and bowl set, and the Avent magic cup. X

    Morning All :D

Jen - glad Ellie's on aptamil, scotts on that too I always worry about soya but for some its the only choice. I have only bought one box of the follow on though as think he's supposed to change at 6 months but think it has more iron in it so don't want to buy too much if he doesn't get on with it. Celebrating in march is such a good thing to do, she gets to be made special twice a year then and quite righly so.
Hope you and Ellie are ok this morning. X

Kira- nice to see you here again deffo switch on the laptop ! Will look into the nuk cup and the avent magic one Mozzy mentions. I am so scared of this whole weaning thing it's quite ridiculous ! I am going to get the baby cook machine thing out if it's box just so I've looked at it :rotfl: we have a while yet but I better start thinking about it more.!
I know you don't have to worry about messing about with machine etc with blw !

Mozzy - I go misty eyed at the mention of night watch !! Hope you are recovEring from that rude sleep interruption  Charlie I mean lol!!
We have got some PVC tablecloth for the floor and some weaning spoons, pots for freezing etc, bibs but need a good melamine type bowl and another cup!

Hubby's in the garden, Dylan behaved last night, the first night he's ever slept here. Hubby is building the fence with Dylan tied to the arch :rotfl:

    Have good day all

    Xx

Dont be scared of weaning Ro! If you approach it mentally in the right way, its actually fun! I know it wont suit everyone, but its so great with BLW, just offering normal food, and seeing them find their way, and try all these foods. Amazing to see, and if you treat it as "food is for fun for the first year", then there is no worry about how much they are eating, no struggling to get them to take "one spoonful more" of mush, and tbh, i dont really think its much messier than puree's. The days i've given CJ yoghurt from a spoon, she has ended up with just as much round her face!
I have also found that a nice 3/4 mealtime, helps while the time away nicely, now she is getting harder to amuse!
