Re immuniisations,do you just make an appt with the practice nurse? I asked my dr at the 6 week check and she said my HV would get in touch with me. Amelie is 7 weeks today and we've not heard anything yet.

Lucy -:D re the jacket
For imms I would ring your hv and ask. For us there was no appt just turn up to baby clinic between set times and we just had a standard letter advising LO was due etc. Each area probably does there own thing so you may well need to book.

    Hi Ladies!!

Well Charlie went to the docs on Friday re his screaming etc during feeds. And they just told us the same as last time - his body is still learning how to work, so he's still struggling a bit to deal with wind etc. So will just see how it goes. He still seems in a lot of pain during feeding, but otherwise during the day he seems to be doing a lot better.
We do still have the witching hour though haha, but hey, I can cope as long as its not all day like we sometimes have!! Its still hard not being able to do anything to ease his pain :(

Had my first bath with him tonight, was very special :)

Lucy, we changed to size 2 teats, but most of the milk ended up coming out his mouth, so went back to size 1. He seems happy enough. on them.

Sunshine - welcome to the screaming club haha. Hard isn't it!!!
As for falling asleep on me before basket - since we've been swaddling him, he settles so so so much easier. And usually just falls asleep himself. The swaddleme ones are great, quick and simple to use.

Hi Mozzy :)I did consider swaddling him, but he loves to have his arms free, even if we go out in the pram and we cover them with his blankets he breaks free from it, so I dont know if swaddling would frustrate him?! My little one still seems to struggle with wind, when he is alseep he just trumps away  sometimes though he looks in pain with it, HV said as long as its coming out then its fine. I'm not entirely convinced but I will perservere!

Dizzy - sorry to read your story :( congrats on your little girl though. I've also seen micro pampers in the big tesco near to me.

Re presents, we had some un practical ones too, my grandad bless him brought a load of outfits of shorts and tshirts in newborn, Aiden has only worn the tshirts as its not been warm enough for shorts and I'm sure he will have outgrown them now :(
A lady who used to work with me did a lovely present, it was a big wicker basket and she filled it with cotton wool, nappy sacks, wipes, bibs, muslins, white vests and sleepsuits in 3-6mnths and johnsons products. It was so lovely to have something different instead of lots of outfits and definately helped us out with the extra supplies. I've kept the wicker basket in his room with some of his little toys in.

Aiden is asleep at the moment but still isnt really settled, he is really squirmy and a bit more vocal than usual - not himself really. I might put him in the pram and go in the garden to do a bit of weeding.

Lucy - I had the asda baby event leaflet too. Looks some good buys in there, the monitors we had been looking at are in there for £50 instead of £65, so I am glad we waited and havent got them yet. We have also been looking for a cheap stroller as we are going away when LO is 12 weeks old and OH doesnt want to take our decent pram incase it gets damaged, there is a couple in the event for £30 or £55 so we may get a stroller too! Along with the nappies and wipes, and possibly clothes if they have some nice ones, I will probably spend a fortune in there!!

    Afternoon Everyone,

A bit of a question - Caitie is 1 month old today (OMG!) and she is starting to have definate awake periods each morning and evening.

Can anyone tell me how long their LO is awake for at this age?

Also, what should I be doing with her whilst she is awake? I talk to her all the time, and she is usually in the bouncer chair next to the sofa so can see me (I think?)

I bring her (and her bouncer) into the kitchen with me when I am prepping and cooking, obviously she is well away from any hot areas or liquids etc.

    Thanks!
    Icey x

PS - I am trying to keep up with the thread but posting as well is a little beyond me at the moment. Hopefully this will change as she gets a little older :)

    Hi Ladies,

Can I just ask have any of you noticed hair falling out since having your LO's?
I have very long black hair and when I'm in the shower and i'm putting my conditioner on loads seems to be falling out! My husband cleaned the shower trap out last night and there was the biggest hair ball I've ever seen!! My hairdresser commented last week on how thick my hair is and I've not got any bald patches, but I'm def losing more hair than ever before!!

Hi Icey - (scratches head) think that LO was awake more than asleep at that age during the day. We have play mat gym things which are good especially as their eyesight improves also need to do tummy time. what you do with lo when you have Dylan the dog running around is a bit errrr difficult lol!!

Hmm thanks, I think I might have to check with the HV, Caitie is awake for a good few hours on and off but she is also asleep lots too :o
