Hiya all. Havent been on in a while, struggling a bit as i lost a very close family member a couple of weeks ago and still trying to get my head round that. Has made me think about how lucky i am though, and how i should appreciate what i have more, as she was only in her late thirties.

So congratulations to all those who have had babies recently. Hope you're all well.

Aimless. Have you seen the Babybjorn Babysitter bouncers? They last until about 2 years, and can be used when baby learns how to sit up.
If you have seen the Pampers advert on telly where the 2 babies are talking about nappy leaks (in baby language of course :D), the baby girl on that is sat in one.
We bought one from ebay, as theyre quite expensive new, and its fab, little man loves it.

In other news, we've started sleeping through, which has been lovely, even if ive been the one awake

    Morning all x

Gilly - don't know where you have been but if you had a break hope it was nice

Redhead - sorry to hear about your family member ((hugs))
Realised we have the baby bjorn babysitter bouncer (a friend gave me it) I did not really know that it was suitable up to 2 years! Or anything about it. Scott likes it though!

I started to lose mine on the Wednesday, only a teeny bit and loads on the Thursday, went into labour on the Thursday night :)

r.e the chair Aimless, I don't think Bouncers are suitable as soon as they can sit up on there own, so if that is coming soon for your LO, I think another bouncer may be a waste of money. I'm not 100% on that though so someone cleverer may correct me. I haven't forgotten btw, I will try and weigh those wipes to cost delivery. I only got home today after 2 weeks away. x

Thanks, I had a quick look at parcel prices when we were talking before, Collect plus seem a lot cheaper than Royal Mail for heavy stuff, but of course I couldn't look for a definite price. Hope you had a nice time away? :)

He likes to be sat up, and will try to throw himself forward if left on enough of a slope, so I can't take my eyes off him in his current bouncer. :D Redhead, thanks for that, I'd seen the ad and wondered what the baby was sitting in! Daddy keeps on about a door bouncer like the other baby, no way am I strapping my precious boy to the door frame! :D

I think we might've slept through here! I thought I'd been up, but I've got no feeds written down, and if I was awake enough to get him tucked up in bed, I would've been awake enough to note it down. :D Must be confusing it with the night before.

Thanks for the replies about presents. I'd love to send a hamper of stuff but postal costs are huge and we live 3 hours away :( I'm tempted to leave it for a few weeks until things have settled down and get them something then - hopefully we'll get to visit before I get too big/tired to travel.

Found an adorable card yesterday so will send that - it's handmade at a local shop so hopefully won't be a duplicate of the many I'm sure they'll get.

I'm interested in timings regarding sweep to labour to birth as well even though I've got awhile yet.
According to the antenatal classes the protocol in my area is to do a sweep on the due date which if it sets things off quickly and I'm likely to have my baby within 2 days would be great. If not I'd rather wait for four days as my OH is going to be away.

Thanks again, congratulations to everyone on the birth of their babies and I'll see you all in ~8 weeks :)

Dashikii, good luck! Can't help re. plug as the first sign I had was my waters breaking...

Dizzi, yikes, sounds like a horrible experience but many congratulations on the arrival of your little girl.

Lucy, I had a letter from my GP stating when the appointment for immunisations would be.

Elliot is 12 weeks now but won't be having his next jabs until he's 13 1/2 weeks, I think they got the date wrong but I don't suppose a week makes that much difference. I think he still has his hydrocele as one testicle looks bigger than the other, so I'm expecting a referral to hospital then too :( DH will be doing the appoinment next week as I've got a work meeting, so hope he manages to cope with it!

Icey, Elliot started going in his bouncy chair when he was a bit more awake which i think was around 4-5 weeks. However luckily we have two chairs as for some reason he didn't like the first one and just screamed, I think it was a slightly different angle to the other. He's fine with either now!

Our cat has decided to graduate to bigger 'prey'. No longer is it enough for her to catch one of our socks and bring it over to us. Last night she caught us one of Elliot's vests AND a duster at the same time. We did our best to look suitably impressed :)

Bluebell, that is lovely! DH stood on something crunchy here two nights ago only to discover remnants of a mouse .

Re sweeps - I had one on the tuesday at 41+1, contractions started thursday and had dd saturday. Started losing plug after the sweep but not sure it was that starting things off. If the sweep works to get things started it won't be immediate, can be up to 48 hours to early labour let alone baby!

That reminds me, I need to call the GP to arrange 2nd set of jabs for next week.

The hair 'loss' after birth really isn't so don't worry. During pg your hair doesn't fall out so afterwards you get a lot more natural drop out than usual to catch up.

My LO doesn't usually nap during the day. From early on - I talk to her, anything and everything, show her toys even though she doesn't yet reach out to hold them herself, do tummy time for as long as she will allow, and baby groups are great because she is fascinated by other children.

Hugs to Redhead for your loss.

Getting LO fed now and then off to bumps and babies. It is very strange being sat with pg women and being the voice of experience!

Sweeps work for some people and not for others. My friend had 3 with no luck and was eventually induced. I had one at 40+1 contractions started 3 hours later and a mere 2.5 days later DD arrived :) When i had mine i was booked in for another at 41+1 just in case, you really can't tell what will happen with them.

Hi Hon. I had a forceps delivery as LO was stuck with her head transverse. I noticed she couldnt move her head well to the right, and that she just seemed tense all the time (as well as having reflux!). I took her to an osteopath for some cranial osteopathy as one of my friends had had simlar problems and said how much it had helped. Wow!
It has helped so much with her head/movement, she is much more chilled out, passes wind more easily and is sleeping better. By all means see your Paed, but its definately worth thinking about taking Lo for some cranial osteopathy.

Hi kira, thanks for this :) we have been referred for physio at the hospital so will see what they say. Will bear this in mind thou and mention it to DH xx
