I'm using Infacol, started when she was a few days old I think (says you can use it from birth) although not sure if it's helping at all. She's not a very burpy baby, but does get hiccups quite a lot which can go on for a while and be tricky to get rid of.Little lady arrived 13/12/110

Hi everyone!
Just popped onto the forum for a very rare visit and it's brilliant to see all my old cronies from the pregnancy thread here and (mostly, sorry Kira!) popped!
Hope everyone is well? Congratulations to all the new mums I haven't already congratulated
Kira - I was induced using the ribbon with Finn, it worked really quickly (about 5 hours I think) and I didn't need the drip - hopefully it will do the same for you unless she arrives beforehand!
Jenjade - I used to use Infacol for Finn from about 2 weeks old up until about 8 weeks. I think it helped!
Mirror - how are you feeling about stopping bf'ing? Hope you're ok
I'm still bf'ing Finn, we've just got through his 12 week growth spurt where he fed every 20 minutes through the night and slept all day but now he seems to have settled into just needing one night feed so we're getting some sleep - sleep is FANTASTIC! Hopefully tonight will be the same, he's had his second lot of jabs today poor little guy!

Just a quick question for those using disposable nappies. How many newborn and size 2's did you use roughly? I seem to have loads of newborn size, and with bump being 8lb 5oz already, I'm not sure I'll need them.
TIA xx0 -

Hi Winnie.... Lovely to see you too! See, shiny new chatty thread. Cool huh! You know where to come for some fun now eh!:rotfl:
Thanks for the heads up on your ribbon induction. There isnt alot of info about on it yet, so good to hear you had a good experience. Were you at all dilated/softened before they administered it? Just as a frame of reference as to how far you needed to get, that you got that quickly!
Sounds like you are doing so well with little Finn. Well done you.:)Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Hi Redhead! Finn was 7lb 8oz and we used about 4 packs of newborn in his first couple of weeks and then maybe 3 boxes of size 2 before moving up to size 3. HTHxx

Thanks Kira! Had a wobble a couple of weeks ago, but we're motoring on again now!
I believe I was between 1 and 2cm dilated when they administered it - can't really remember! But I know when they removed it after about 5 hours I was 8cm and contracting every 3 mins! They broke my waters for me and after that Finn arrived within an hour and a half! All in all a very positive experience0 -
Hi Winnie. Nice to see you. Glad you and Finn are doing well.
Thanks for the help. I've got more than 10packs of newborn so think I'll definitely swap some over for bigger ones. Xxx0 -

hey redhead sorry to give you conflicting advice but my bubba was 7lb 5 and is now 7 weeks old and is still in size 1 nappies at 9lb 11 and they are to be honest a bit big as he is a long skinny thing, so it just depends on babys shape.
I used infacol, did a midnight dash to tesco in the first week as you can use it from birth and it worked to start with but i then noticed that he pooed constantly and it was making his milk go straight through him so he wasnt putting much weight on.
I know its naughty but we've started giving roo a dummy he would just scream for an hour before i fed him other wise, but he didnt like the advent ones, it wasnt until we tried him with mam ones he actually took one, his colic seems a bit better with them too. we got orthadontic ones to try and help his little mouth.
ooooh its so nice to see all the familier faces again, i've missed chatting0 -
Poppy was in size 1's for about 6 weeks, she was also 7lb 5oz and then size 2's till she was about 3 1/2 months , she is quite a small baby.
Missy - it isn't naughty , nothing wrong with a dummy. They are supposed to help prevent SIDs and anything that saves your sanity has to be ok!Poppy wouldn't take one but i did try.0 -
WINNIE!!!!!!!!! I missed you!!!!!!!! How are you doing?!
We use Infacol for Jacob's last feed of the day as we find it helps settle him. During the day he doesn't seem to need it. Last night DH forgot to give him the Infacol and we really noticed the difference - DH was in my bad books then for forgetting!!!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0
