Hi Mozzy glad your stitches are healing, I had the same problem could not sit down either which messed up feeding. As for the lactulose at least it works lol!
Good luck with trying a different formula, sounds as though him being a grumpy moo and refusing to sleep is making him more grumpy too. Wish I could wave some sleepy dust over him, Scott was so much better in mood when he got a bit more sleep in the day, really feel for you. With the winding you said he screams when u do it, does anything actually come up or go down so to speak ?
Re the tears hope it is just the stress, if not then don't be afraid to get help. I do tell myself that the tiredness etc is just for now and not forever. Does make me a bit sad that me and hubby are ships that pass, but there is no way I could cope without going to bed by 9 pm with the night feeding.

Bit late for you two with this advice, but if anyone is keen to breastfeed but can't sit down, try feeding lying down. I think most of my first feeds were either slouched well back on pillows so the pressure is off that part, or with us both on our side lying flat. Only reason I sit up at night now is to keep me awake!

Talking of which, he went to sleep before 10, so never really settled after getting up at half 1, yawn! Lots of squirming and farting till he finally pooed around 8.

Thanks aimless, was shown how to do it lying down but I cannot lay on my back and if I do it on my side (which I do resort to sometimes) my back/pelvis hurts... There is no pleasing some!! Lol

Hi ladies. Hope everyone enjoying a nice Sunday.
Good and bad last night. Upside is CJ did 7.50pm till 9am with 2 feeds, inc 7 hours straight through. Downside that she woke herself crying unconsolably again..

Hmm, does anyone know if it actually works to keep a baby awake in the day so that their body clock goes the opposite way around? Harry is awake from 11 - 3 falls asleep for an hour and then wakes up for a feed at 4. I don't want to end up with a really grizzly baby though because I've kept him awake in the day to try and get him to sleep in the night and it end up not working.

Unsure, Fredula, I tryand keep Rose awake during the day so she sleeps at night, but I have a sleepy baby anyway- Rose has more cute asleep photos than awake ones.....

Any word from Jenjade on Ellie?

What do you do to keep her awake? Harry's 7 weeks old. Is he too young to be kept awake? He was 8 weeks prem, but he looks around and stuff like that. He takes things in, but when I try and play with him I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere. He kinda just stares.

Our hv said to take them for lots of daytime walks, especially after lunch, so they get exposed to light which helps set their clock to daytime with melatonin. If you need to change sleep times, she said keep them awake 15mins longer each day til you get the right times.

Daddy is currently dealing with a very grumpy girl who has been refusing to nap all day, so I'm not having to bother with keeping her awake. She's getting the idea of sleeping at night and being awake in the day but trying too hard!

Last night we had a 7 hour run followed by nearly 4, so all overslept! Never thought that would happen again and was very grateful we had only made vague plans to be out which was not a problem. Unfortunately I woke up about 5.5 hours into her long sleep and had to express some milk so I could get comfy enough to get back to sleep myself :(

Ro, it really sounds like you are falling apart! Hope you start to get some of those problems sorted. I haven't even washed the new clothes yet and most are too big for her but I'm sure we'll take photos, especially at the weddings.

You guys have really scared me with picking nurseries! I haven't even thought about that. I'm planning to be off until SMP runs out in September, but I really hope we can find a way for me to stay home longer even though that is probably only if pigs find ways of flying. For many reasons I really don't want to go back to my current job, that is absolutely worst case scenario!
