Interesting that a few of you with LO's similar age to mine, are having the same issues with refusing to nap and needing constant attention. I have to confess (to my shame as i feel a bad mummy for complaining), it is doing my head in a bit atm.
She is sooooo interested and alert and into everything, that she gets bored and grizzles after about 5 minutes of anything, cant put her in her chair, on her mat even for a quick wee without a grizzle which usually turns to full wailing. Its more exhausting than the lack of sleep days. I'm almost wishing the days away till bed time so that i can have a few minutes without a grizzle monkey to deal with.
I've been doing pram walks with her, and they get longer each day, used to be 20-30 minutes, yesterday, it was 2 hours, as it is the only way to prevent the nonstop grizzle cycle. My hips are really not upto walks that long so i hurt in the evenings when i get back!

Have tried to take her to visit grandparents during the days , to share the load and have a break so to speak as i keep being advised in books, by the HV etc, and all that happens is they give her a quick cuddle for a few minutes till she grizzles/wails then hand her back to mummy, so no break at all really.

Hi everyone, hope everyone is ok.

Just a question regarding taking formula out of the house.

Our LO was very poorly last few weeks (10wks today) and is now on special formula (Nutramigen) as he has an allergy but no idea what yet.

He has vastly improved on this, but was having alot more reflux so HV and GP advised galviscon with it. And so far alot better.

But its says on the tin (formula) that it needs to be stored in the fridge and outside only for 2 hours. Now we have not been out this long that he would need 2 feeds.

What would the best way to do this? Take out a sterile bottle full of water (boiled then cooled) and take out the formula in small containers.

Any advice would be great (He is also full of cold, and now started teething too, bless him :) )

Grrr, waiting for Sainsburys to deliver. They are 20 minutes late. The driver just rang, which is pointless as he doesnt speak english really, to tell me my house doesnt exist and he cant find it.

F knows where he is, asdespite him saying he is somewhere on our road, i've sent my dh out to wait for him on our driveway, and he is nowhere to be seen.

huh... just arrived. lets see how useless they have been at filling the order.

Not just you thinking things like that Kira! My girl was born the day after yours so at exactly the same stage. It's lovely to see them interested in things around them but you don't get a minute to yourself!

I'm looking forward to my parents coming over tomorrow afternoon so they can deal with it, and bless them, they won't hand her back if she gets upset. Well, my dad might hand her to my mum, but I should get a break!

Good to know Crabapple. Feel alot better that i'm not an evil mummy. Thanks.
My mum i think would be willing to keep hold of LO if she was wailing, but she lives 3 hours away, so is the one grandparent of the 3 sets, that i dont have access to. She is the only one so far to offer me any useful help, and that was changing a nappy at a family party.

Ah Kira, you could so be writing about my day! I know my LO is only 18 days old, but I can't put him down for a second without him crying. It really does take its toll. And its only been 18 days for me, so I can only imagine hun x

Oh, and my mum and dad are in South Africa, so no help there either :(

Hello, we started using Nutramigen today and it is basically the same as all other formulas. 2 hours out of the fridge is what is deemed acceptable.

If I was you I'd invest in a flask and take that with you to make up fresh feeds on the go along with the formula in storage pots. The water you make feeds up with has to be 70 degrees to kill the bacteria in milk, so cold water would be no good. Hth xx

Hi. Don't know what we should do. Amelie is happy to fall asleep on us after feeding, but as soon as we put her in her basket, she wakes up and won't settle. She is forever trying to go for her fists even when she's had a good feed.

Oh and hubby was at a business meeting from lunchtime to 6pm yesterday. Went ok as son was off from college to help. He seems to be getting more confident in holding her now.

Why is it as soon as the nappy comes off,Amelie decides to do a big wee:rotfl:

Have hv tomorrow so will be interested to see how much weight gain is now. She only lost a few oz at last one.

Id try heating her basket up slightly with a hot water bottle. may be the shock of the cold basket and not warm mummy waking her.
