yes, my older boys are christened (12 and 9) and will be getting samuel done soon. hubby not bothered he is CofE but doesnt believe in anything.
i stopped taking my boys to church about 1 yr ago now as they had really had enough and moaned all the timei still go at lest once a month but for me it gives them a sense of belonging and good beliefs in something it is now up to them if they want to follow the faith or not when they are older, they have both had thier holy communion too
plus i like a party, xnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -

No we arent. Dont believe, so for me it would be hyprocritical to then promise to bring him up with god in his life.
My parents also left it to me to decide if I wanted to be Christened when I was old enough.
I have a friend who readily admits that she doesnt believe at all and is only having her little girl christened for the party.

Another poo-splosion today! I think that means no more size 2 nappies, and I still have a pack left over I was going to use up. I'm running out of shops I haven't swapped in!
Those whose babies poo every day, do you get normal ones, or do you have poo-splosions too?
Anyone know of anywhere that sells vaguely cool and reasonably priced nursing stuff? I'm sick of wearing overstretched ex maternity vests, but it's all so mumsy! And why so many horizontal stripes, have you seen the size of my chest!
I got some from H&M - they were nice but they aren't sticking the pace terribly well, getting quite out of shape and faded. However I'm now a new convert to the "pull up-push down" method - get stocked up on cheap primark vests, they are super stretchy and are only £2 or £3. There are heaps of colours. You can wear any top so long as it has enough give in it to pull up above your boob. You pull the vest underneath down below your boob so your belly is still covered. Modesty intact and if you have a vest of a colour that generally matches your top it's hardly noticeable at all - especially if you are sat in a cafe or anything with a table in front of you. You can just buy normal fashionable tops which you can carry on wearing after you've stopped feeding.0 -

I agree exactly. It's very hypocritical.
Don't people tend to have naming celebrations now a days if they want a party? That makes more sense to me, although I personally still wouldn't have one.0 -
Aw no Jen
that sucks. She's a wee fighter though xxx
R.e Christenings, my OH pretends he's religious, last time he was went to church, donkeys ago. I'm hoping to avoid the subject and then it get to 6 months and just say "oh there's no point now"The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
LO flaked out super early tonight- tucked up and zonked at 6.30 instead of 8, . Didnt fancy a four hours giving a midnight morning, so just experimenting with a dream feed for first time. So far so good- didn't open eyes when picked her up and latched on and sucking away.. Fingers crossed..
Jen - sorry op postponed. Friday will come round soon though. thinking of you.

Hello all, thank you for the warm welcome
We won't be getting Thomas christened.
Jenjade I'm sorry they've moved your LOs operation
Is anyone's bubbas around Thomas's age? He's 6 months and 3 weeks old. We started BLW almost a month ago and whilst he doesn't eat a lot his motor skills have come on amazingly. Other than that though he's still very 'baby' like. He cannot roll, he's only ever sat once, can't crawl, and has only just learnt how to do push ups at tummy time.
I know I shouldn't be worried as all babies develop at their own pace but a lot of my mummy friends who have babies the same age have told me their babies are now saying mama, dada or other words. Thomas still does the basic baby sounds.
I'm a bit worriedI've always thought his start in life has contributed to why he's taking longer than everyone else but obviously I can't prove it.
