Hi Ro! How you hun? Do you post on the fb page?
Just trying to put Lo down for last sleep if the day.
My 1st day alone tomorrow. Dreading it!
Are we ok taking a newborn out to Tesco before he's had his injections. I think he only gets them at 8wks x
Mozzy, in his first week mine went to school with lanky teen's forgotten lunch, and home via Sainsburys, on a three hour road trip to meet other half's parents, home via a friend with a new baby to compare. On a half hour drive to the midwives, home via Asda, to the hospital for a scan, and another half hour drive to be registered. Oh, and he's done parents evening, academic tutorial, long trip to meet my granny, and another trip to see his since, among other things. Lol, and I wonder why I'm tired!
Best bit of advice I was given was 'he's your baby, do what you want with him' when I asked the midwife if I was allowed to bath him yet.Am very nervous cos i have to take LO with me, and it will be my first time taking CJ out in the car by myself. Managed to do everything with the pram till now, or with DH driving us. Eek! Still its gotta be done sometime, and i guess once ive done it, the world is my oyster again!
Kira, I've been driving round since week one, but I still find it stressful! It's the not being able to see what he's doing. On the three hour journeys I insist on having the lanky teen to tell me what's happening.

Small pause to be thrown up on...
Jen, glad to hear you're doing ok, i'll take a look at your page.
Anyone know of anywhere that sells vaguely cool and reasonably priced nursing stuff? I'm sick of wearing overstretched ex maternity vests, but it's all so mumsy! And why so many horizontal stripes, have you seen the size of my chest!
Oh Annabella, I forgot to make the appointment for mine too! Baby had their check last week, mine's not till friday.I've also got to make him an appointment, as we seem to have a health visitor check, and a doctor check two weeks later.

It was me wondering about whether you had to wait for the doctors all clear or wait 6 weeks after having a section, for driving?:ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do

Sorry, I'm afraid I don't have a clue on that one, but googling, lots of people just say 6 weeks, others say their insurance company wanted a doc's ok? I was replying to Kira saying about first driving, I'll add the quote in.0

Wow I didn't realise this thread existed. I hope you don't mind if I join in?
About my son;
Thomas was born on August 7th 2011 (same birthday as my oh) 3 days overdue after a very long and rough pregnancy. My waters broke pre prematurely at 14 weeks. I was told he wouldn't survive and if I got past the miscarriage stage I would need to prepare myself for a stillbirth.
Amazingly Thomas continued to grow and at 24 weeks my waters revealed though I continued to suffer with oligohydraminos (low fluid). They wanted to induce me at 34, then 36, then 38 weeks but I refused. My scans were normal, he was growing on target and moving normally.
He was due on August 4th and on the 3rd (39+6) I started losing my plug and getting contractions. Finally after a very long 3 days I gave birth to a healthy 6lbs 8.5oz baby boy who had barely and hair and 3 thumbs.
He had a bit of a rough start. He had a blood infection at 2 weeks old and we weren't sure if he'd survive. Thankfully he pulled through. He had an op in November to remove the extra thumb and at the same time realised he needed splints on his ear because it had not formed properly. They were removed in January this year.
The poor mite then had to deal with a nasty hand infection where he had the op. He has an umbilical hernia, a sacral dimple (which thank god they can see the bottom of so no worries of spina bifida) and we are waiting to see an eye specialist as both his eyes turn.
He will need another op when he's about one as on the hand where the 2 thumbs developed the 'normal' thumb isn't in his hand joint.
He also ended up in hospital again on February 6th because whilst I was wearing him (I don't use a pram) I tripped over a loose slab in my town centre and he got a concussion.
He's a happy little boy though. He's for the most part healthy, a good weight even if he is very skinny and he loves to shout!! He can't roll, sit or crawl but we'll get there eventually!!
I just wish he'd sleep! He's always been a bad sleeper and he's awake now at 3:15am!
hi sequuena im sure i was on the pregnancy board with you, i remember the double thumb . x blimey youve had a time of it havent you. hope its all going well now.

Its best to check with your insurance company about it. I asked and they said as long as my doctor had ok'd it but didn't need any proof?0
