Is anyone planning on getting their babies christened? DH would quite like to but said it's up to me. I was never christened as my parents thought I should make up my own mind what I believed when I was old enough to decide. I'm finding it really difficult to make a decision on this one!

My OH is baptised and confirmed went to church as a child etc... My parents didn't bother... which I am a bit upset about.. I was never given the opportunity to learn any of it or decide for myself.. you make decisions based on your experience, if a child never experiences going to church how can they choose whether they want to go or not. Very few people with no background take the steps to attending regular services.. informed choices and all that ;)

    Just food for thought.

I had all my bunch done.. and they go to church until they are old enough to choose not to go.. I still don't go.. it is far too alien.

Anyway.. what I really came to find out was who got round to proposing today??

I recall having a discussion with Gilly and someone else (right back last autumn).. one of the Lauras I think.. we had all been with out OH's about the same length of time and were discussing proposing....

So.. did you??? and?? Who else plucked up courage?

I still stand by my not-asking because I won't give him the satisfaction of saying no.. :p

Sequeena.. Not one of mine have been rolling or sitting or doing anything other than being a blob at 6.5 months. They seemed to suddenly go from doing nothing to sitting and crawling to walking in weeks.. Other than 2 none of mine said any words before they are 10 months. Dot is 5.5 months.. she doesn't even support her own head properly yet, She is absolutely nowhere near rolling or sitting and hates laying on her front unless laid across my lap so crawling is months away.. That said.. my sons boy was crawling at 3 month.. seriously... we have video's and he was standing at furniture by 4 months!!.. exceptionally early, he still didn't walk until 14 months! T sounds fine to me.. and quite often mummy-bragging does tend to lead to over exaggerated claims about their genius baby and their talents.. you just aren't trying to kid yourself he is 2 when he is just a small baby still.. enjoy him being a baby they grow up too fast as it is without encouraging them :p xx

Ewan plays white noise, to help them sleep. Tonight seems to be going as well as last night, she's fallen asleep on her own in the basket. She just woke at 3.30 for a feed but is drifting off again now.I was a bit late putting her down tonight though as I dozed off on the sofa and OH had her and didn't want to wake me! I need to get more organised and have her in her jammies and sleeping bag from about 8pm as she actually falls asleep around then for a couple of hours, then wakes for a feed 10-11ish. That's when I've been putting her down and going to bed myself.

Playgroup was good. A friend of mine, who has a 6 month old, was there and she introduced me to some other mummies she's met since going and everyone seemed nice and friendly. The last half an hour was spent sat in a circle singing songs, and Amelia fell asleep by the end of the first one! She was so well behaved though, she just took it all in and stared at the lights mainly! :D I might try another one on Thursday or Friday, it's nice to get out of the house!

The doctor's surgery rang me earlier to get a few details to register Amelia with them so I asked about my six week check. She said they do it at eight weeks as they tie it in with baby's first jabs and do it all in one go, so I don't need to do anything just yet. I'm due a smear test too, so they're going to do that at the same time.

    Right, back to sleep! Xx

Hello ooh interesting re the Ewan. Sounds like you are getting on well. I would freak if I had to sit in a circle and sing songs lol
You mentioned the s word  I am in denial...

Blimey, LO has managed to put on another 3ozs since Friday! HV happy with everything and I had no concerns. Tomorrow I have my appointment at the hospital to check the repair on my tear. I was slightly surprised that it is at the ante-natal outpatients - thought I was done with that! Certainly for the moment but I'm not desperate for a second just yet.

I've been amused by the nappy talk, we also talk of poo-namis in this house! Generally getting a dirty nappy every three or four days. She managed to do yesterdays during a nappy change so I was watching as she covered the towel she was lying on and then got her feet in it... mind you, that was the first time she didn't need a change of clothes too:rotfl:

Good to here you are getting on well with LO
Scott went 2 days before a poonami for the first time which freaked me out! Luckily he does it for daddy ;)

    Hello Ro!

She keeps doing her worst nappies when daddy is at work :(

We are going to attempt to keep the christening small, just to the immediate family and godparents. Then we started working out how many people that could be and it seems rather a lot!

Pigpen Funny you should mention that actually, we were discussing today just going to the register office sometime soon. Anyone know costs involved etc?
