Thanks Kira, that makes me feel a bit better. I am really worried about PND. Both my sisters had it , and I have had depression before and I really do not want to be back there. I've got an appointment with the HV on Thursday.

Glad if it helped even in a teeeny way. I reread the bit in the book again last night for you, and it said 4-5 weeks is common, right up to 4-5 months, but that you are more likely to feel blue earlier, if you have had depression of any kind before, so while the HV is supposed to do a PND questionnaire at about 9 weeks, thats a long time away for you, and there is no point in unnecessarily feeling bad for longer than you need to, so get in there early, as there is lots they can do, and help you get it resolved quickly before it has time to bed in... :) Big hugs. xx

Wonder Womnle - I cried quite a lot in the first few weeks, was very hard with the constant feeding etc and no sleep but it got easier and I felt better. I wouldn't worry too much at the min but if it is still bad in a few weeks have a word with your gp/hv.

Tsstss - i started weaning Poppy with purees etc but she doesn't really like eating off a spoon so we do a lot of finger foods. She doesn't eat much but does enjoy herself and seems to be getting the hang of it more now.

Sorry Mirror, that was me with the 7hr sleeper. Shes just slept through Daddy hoovering the house, and slept through a fire alarm in the hospital. I broke a bar of chocolate in half, and she woke straight up!
Emmylou, I managed to escape the bath/pad problem- I was given a bedbath as I'd lost so much blood standing would have been interesting!
WW, I'd think crying is natural enough.... to a point anyway. I know I've felt teary several times, pregnancy and labour are emotionally and physically draining to go through, and there is no respite afterwards- you suddenly have been thrown in at the deep end looking after a person, and all the responsibility and shock can crowd in- particularly if it's been a difficult..... You've talked about it on here, and that's a good sign. Big hugs to you, and please talk to someone. Sick- I've been covered that often now. Particularly when we used bottles for the first time. It's my perfume for 2012! The smell of milk. If she hasn't thrown up, then the milk I've spent 30 mins expressing I manage to drop over myself in a moment of predictable clumsiness.

Well I started Daniel on he baby rice and he seemed pretty happy. Gave him half his bottle first, then he ate all his rice (was probably on a tablespoon's worth). He only took another few oz leaving 2 oz in his bottle: that's a first! He has now been sleeping for an hour and a half so seems to be working.
Does anyone know, do you give him baby rice with every bottle? Or just 3 times a day or something? I know I did this 4 years ago with DD but I can't remember a thing.

Got the phone call confirming baby swim classes are starting this Friday. The class will be all 3 and 4 month old babies: they are going to look so cute! *must stop feeling so broody*

Lirin you mentioned being clumsy. I have never been so bruised in my life. I bump and crash into every bit of furniture and seem to be all fingers and thumbs :-( I'm putting it down to lack of sleep.

Alison - i only gave baby rice once a day. I did that for a week or so and then moved onto veg. I started weaning at 4 months so took it slowly , she didn't get a third meal till she was around 6 months.

welcome corncob. How old is your little one? What size nappies are you looking to get? I am the queen of cheap nappies!! Do you have a preferred brand?

Have you tried searching on ebay. make sure you look for nearest first so you can collect as postage would make it a bad deal. some people sell packets they havent used. Also you can buy money off vouchers for nappies on ebay

Hello all! Welcome to all the new ladies. Jacob slept 10.30-7.30 again yey!! Pity his brother can't sleep all night without getting up and wandering about! Had health visitor today. My little chubby chubster at 10 weeks weighs 14lb 8oz!!!! What a porker. Suppose he had a head start on most babies though. Had to do the post natal questionnaire too - what a load of old tosh. It really depends on how you are feeling at that particular point in time
