Jacob was fine in the size 1s for a couple of weeks Gilly so don't worry about the weight guidelines on them. It all depends on how big their tummies are to get the nappy around lol! I took all 0-3 clothes into hospital as I knew he would be tall like his brothers. You could always pack a mixture of both in your hospital bag, then have another bag of clothes your OH could keep in the car and bring in as and when you need them. We went through a few sets of clothes even though I was only in 2 days as nappies leak, clothes get puked on etc etc
Thanks, I've packed all newborn at the minute, in the vain hope, he's not as big as they tell me! :rotfl: most of it is up to 11lbs so I'd hope it'd at least fit until we get home
Good advice about the nappies, will take size 1's then as that's what I've packed, pampers, and will pack huggies in the other bag just incase. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
I'm a baby bath user too Wendz. I also use a nappy bin! We're all different. Everyone told me not to get a changer unit but I wish I had.
I'd Defo have a decent stack of maternity pads! I eventually went onto normal sanitary pads.
Clothes wise I took new born stuff and newborn nappies. It didn't occur to me not too! We only live about 5 mins from the hospital so it wouldn't have been a hassle if we needed something different.
What I have got that was a waste of time?....actual outfits rather than grows for the early days, I stocked up on pampers and they didn't suit them and I changed to Huggies on day 3.0 -
Hi Kandboys!! Great to see you on hereMimi_Arc_en_ciel wrote: »I know this is going to sound really vain but whats your weight like? I was 11stone 9lb before pregnancy, then at 9 months i was 13 stone 8lbs, am now 12stone 8b. I know obviously im being ridiculous in thinking about this as Amy is only 3 day's old but its something i have struggled with for years and it really upset me last time i was pregnant and i dont want to have those feelings this time round.
I have no idea what I weigh at the mo, and have no intention of weighing myself until I can get back to doing some exercise. I have a rad map on my stomach though and some belly 'overhang'Does anyone else have this or am I freakish?
Just wanted some advice please on a couple of things. I have started buying more now I am 23+6 and am already thinking about what I need to get. Is there anything you forgot that you think you could do with, anything you bought that was un-necessary and anything you cant be without? We dont have a huge budget so I dont want to end up buying a load of stuff we wont use (though saying that we ahve bought quite a bit already!)
I am another one who recommends lots of muslin squares. I bought tons of cute bibs and they are useless, muslin squares are the bees kneesI've also got a changing table which is in our lounge/dining room. If it was upstairs I wouldn't use it, but downstairs I use it every change. I had a section and couldn't be doing with kneeling on the floor, plus I have sciatica so it has been a huge help to me. I also have a baby bath which I put on the dining room table as I would struggle bending over the bath all the time due to the sciatica.
How much sleep is everyone getting? Rose is allowing us around 7 hours a night, which is quite good I think.
Ooooh you are sooooo jammy!!Katie sleeps in 3 hour stints, then up for an hour to feed, wind, change etc. Much better than her first 2 or 3 weeks when she was up all night and sleeping all day though.
I've been to see the GP today as I can't seem to stop crying. Anything sets me off at the mo. He advised me to speak to my HV about it. Is it normal to be like this 4 weeks after giving birth?0 -
I thought the nappy bin was fantastic last time when I used disposables.
Gilly I went through all 4 sleep suits in 12 hours as Daniel kept puking up mucous. Should have had a second bag of baby stuff in the car.
Lirin I'm watching 'the 74 stone woman' and suddenly feeling a whole lot slimmer!!!! You are very kind though. I have to say I felt a million dollars after having Daniel as I was just so delighted not being pregnant anymore.
Didn't realise Rose is only 2 weeks. Definitely worth sticking with the breast feeding for another two week. Hope those shields arrive soon as they make all the difference!
Daniel is sleeping longer at night but can't go 6 hours without a bottle, and gets fidgety and noisy, so I usually get woken every 2 hours or so, even though I don't usually have to get up as he settles himself. Would love to move him into his own room but don't like to before 6 months :-(
Wonder womble you had a pretty stressful pregnancy didn't you. Didn't you have a difficult birth too? The tears could be a reaction to all that stress and worry. I was only teary in the first week when my milk came in and then again when I gave up breast feeding. Might be worth speaking to someone cos you don't want to keep on feeling teary. *hugs*First Baby born January 2007

I think you will have an 'overhang' for a while if not forever unless you were very toned before lol. It's the joys of having a c-section. I've had 2 now so there's no hope for me! Sorry you are feeling so tearful hun - it's horrible. It could just be hormones - are you feeling very down as well or just tearful? I cry over stupid things still like the Salvation Army advert that was on before Christmas - had me in floods!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

Ha ha ha I remember the first time I stood up in hospital after my c-section - wow I thought it was going to all go on the floor!!!!
How strange, was only yesterday i was wondering what happens with bleeding after a c-section! Obviously I know what happens with a vaginal birth, just wasnt sure how long it all took to "come out" after a section lol! Not that i`m planning on having one
I didnt have any clots at all with DD1 or DD2, but with DD3 i was really shocked!! I also bled for 6 weeks with DD3, but only a few weeks with the other 2 xxMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,and a handsome lil BOY 03.03.12 :T

Hi WW. The "Your baby week by week" book i've been reading actually says 4-5 weeks is the most likely time to get struck with some degree of baby blues, so sounds like you are perfectly normal! Definately good idea to speak to the HV about it..Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

WW yes its perfectly normal! I remember standing in the shower when DD3 was 9 weeks old, and just crying and crying with no idea why! Its all the hormones as well as lack of sleep, just the sheer shock of becoming a mum too i`d say! Have u been out of the house much since u had ur lil one? How about seeing if there r any mum and new baby groups in ur area, i`m sure u`ll meet someone who feels just the same as u do! Hope things get better for u soon hun, they DO get better xxxMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,

It's pretty much the same as a vaginal birth. I was bleeding and gushing a bit while I was bed ridden but it was when I stood up and gravity took it's course!! Luckily I was helped out of bed so I could shower so that was good timing lol!!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
Eww, its so grim what we have to go thru to have our bundles of joy! I was talking to a friend today, and saying that after u give birth, u waddle off to have a bath with a pad between ur legs....and then u stand next to the bath, wondering how the hell ur supposed to get in it! If u take the pad away, u gush, if u try climbing into the bath, the pad doesnt stay in place, and if by any chance u DO manage to get into a standing position in the bath without making a mess, where the hell do u put the pad when u finally sit down!! Then u have the same problem in reverse as to how u get out of the bath lol! Esp when the towels they give u in hosp r all white eek !! xxMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,
