  • Ah no! I know car insurance will go up (apprently kids are a distraction to a driver . . . . lol)

Had a badish night with Amy last night, Managed to get some sleep, am monitoring her pattern to see what the difference is between a good night and a bad night!

My boobs are KILLING me, Nipples etc arent sore but they are HUGE and heavy, Not even going to attempt to express because my body will think its Amy and will produce more milk which defeats the object lol

My DD number1 is back at nursery today, she starts "big girl" school next week (Its not infants, she goes to a private day nursery atm, next week she goes to a school nursery)

I know this is going to sound really vain but whats your weight like? I was 11stone 9lb before pregnancy, then at 9 months i was 13 stone 8lbs, am now 12stone 8b. I know obviously im being ridiculous in thinking about this as Amy is only 3 day's old but its something i have struggled with for years and it really upset me last time i was pregnant and i dont want to have those feelings this time round.

    Hope your all ok x

    Hi Mummies :)

Just wanted some advice please on a couple of things. I have started buying more now I am 23+6 and am already thinking about what I need to get. Is there anything you forgot that you think you could do with, anything you bought that was un-necessary and anything you cant be without? We dont have a huge budget so I dont want to end up buying a load of stuff we wont use (though saying that we ahve bought quite a bit already!)

Oh, and is it best to get maternity towels or will normal sanitary towels surfice?

Thanks for your help, its really appreicated I know you must be very busy now :o

I wouldnt buy loads of new born clothes -. use cloths/towels as bibs, my moses basket downstairs is hardly being used.

I'm using always ultra maxi pads, took some bed pads from hospital and using them at night but not over bleed for my maxi pad but feel better knowing bed pad is there.

firstly try freecycle to see what you can get for free. x

    samuel is 14 weeks old

    havent used the
    baby bath (freecycle)
    nappy bin (freecycle)
cot (but will start as soon as he is over this cold and cold)
nappy changer for top of cot and cant see me using it at all really
soft nappy mat (have just been using his play mat when he is laying on it, (although have had to wash it a few times because of little accidents)

    definatley needed

lots of nappies (have you read up on how to use the huggies vouchers for maximum benefit) (although i dont like the huggies wipes personally)
muslins (plenty off, cheapest i have fount is tesco)
will you be breastfeeding if so i wuldnt bother with a manuel pump, an electric one is soooo much better but you can wait until you se how you get on first

Hi ladies. This seems to be a well used thread!

Our little boy absolutely adored swimming! He was the happiest bub there and the teacher kept borrowing him for the demos. Dunking next week so we'll see how he goes with that. It's certainly helping him nap now :-).

We've got the HV tomoz for the weaning chat and we've got the 3rd jabs.

My one completely essential item is muslin squares. They are fab for feeding especially when babies barf milk back up. A bib just doesn't cut it! Baby bath was a waste of time for me every time. We just give Jacob a quick bath in the sink and when he's a little older he can go in the main bath with a seat we have.

Mirror I'm really lucky in that DH has always taken our boys swimming from an early age. Problem now is that because there are 3 he can't take them all at the same time because of pool rules so I will have to go - the public isn't ready for my post pregnant, post Xmas body in a swimsuit lol!!
Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!
