My god, the washing! Yesterday after a particularly sicky evening and morning, I had 8 soaked muslins, as well as 4 that had somehow all been used for small dribbles! And I thought buying 3 packs was excessive.
Which reminds me, why am I online instead of putting the dryer on?
I think the last lot of wind has died down a bit, he's fast asleep next to me, and has been for long enough to do some online shopping and surfing, yay! I ordered a new cooker yesterday, and today I've bought a little compact camera for my changing bag so I don't have to carry my lovely but big one around. Can't see my maternity money going far at this rate! I also got a bouncy chair earlier which I'll probably put in my bathroom so I don't have to make him a nest of towels on the floor.
Generally he only cries when he's windy or hungry, so I usually just feed him when he does. I always think if he's taking the milk, he probably needs it.0 -
I actually love the soother already. Im laid on bed having the nicest cuddles and hes not screaming his head off, its lovely. Daddy has just gone to work. Soon as little man is down I'm crashing, I've had one day time nap since he was born :eek:The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

We gave in and got dummies and she will not take them for more than a minute - usually only seconds before she spits them out. Good tip on the muslins though, thanks.
Generally stick her onto a boob to calm her down or stop the cries ramping up (if the iphone doesn't work!), or she will suck on her dad's finger for some time unless she's really hungry and knows she is being fobbed off with something useless (not DH, just something with no milk in it!).:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Gilly, dont know if it you think it worth a try.. Claudia usually has a grizzly time between 6-9. I mentioned it to the M/W at a visit, and she suggested that i try drinking a cup of chamomile tea about an hour before the grizzly time is due. I've been doing it for a few weeks most days, and it seems to really help- the days when i remember to take it, CJ stays much calmer and settles alot better, and seems to suffer less with tummy wind.
I'm not a herbal tea fan, but i can just about manage the chamomile for the sake of some peace! If you want to give it a go, make sure it is an organic caffeine free one. Worth a try,Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I've been drinking fennel tea to keep my milk supply up, so think I could drink anything if I can drink that :rotfl:
His grizzly time is 11pm! I could cope with it so much better I think if it was earlier, but tonight he's been quite calm, I'm back off the reflux idea, I think he just has terrible wind, I've just bathed him and he farted constantly for about 10 minutes and he seems to be settling now. Noone can tell me what to do for bottom wind, it's so annoying. Even the midwife the other day (the best I've had) tried everything she knew, tummy massage, a bath, a hot sock against his tummy and nothing worked  she said there isn't even anything on the market for it, and we're doing the best we can by giving him the comfort formula as it's easier digested. Found our thread on page 3 - we've obviously been quiet (which may well mean the LO's haven't!).
Finally got LO to give in and go to sleep. She was awake, either feeding or complaining, for nearly 4 hours this morning. I'm not sure if she had too much wind as her guts were rumbling quite a bit, or she was overtired and had decided sleep was for wimps. It is so much quieter here now, I may be able to get some things done!
Got to go up to Tesco this pm as have run out of some essentials. I might have a look at the herbal teas while I am there:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Oh my word! Just back from the drop in hv clinic to have Cj weighed. In 3 weeks, she has gone from 10lb 2oz to 12lb 5oz!! I'm growing a monster! Hv said she could hardly believe she was only a month old!
I mentioned my theory on silent reflux, and after hearing her rasping cough, and symptoms, she agrees. She is going to drop in and see me on Monday to chat about things.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Hi All,
Please may I join you all, please? I lurk but often find myself wanting to ask questions.....so here I am de-lurking to the world
I did use to post on the pregnancy thread, but since having my LO, bearly had time to wash, eat, sleep etc....then i upgraded my phone, baby in one hand, internet in the other.
Anyhoo, I had a baby girl called Azra 03.08.11, so she's 6.5 months now. I combination fed her from day 1 and she's amazing!
While I'm here, I think it was Wendz the other day who mentionned letting her LO cry out - im trying this as shejust seems to be waking for no reason and wanting to be soothed back to sleep. How long did your LO take to recognise that she needed to soothe herself? I can be quite strong with hearing her cry (even tho every fibre of my being wants to go and cuddle her) but DH isn't so patient (honestly, i think he would be better if he came to bed at a sensible hour not 1am, but ahem, thats another matter!).
Anyhoo, hope those of you with newborns are cherishing everyday, I honestly don't know where 6.5 months has gone.:heart2: Mummy to one gorgeous little girl :heart2:0 -
Ohh for the new mummies, I had some of those JML toastie bags in the cupboard and have been practically living on them. You basically can make a toasty in the toaster, so no need to clean the machine etc. The bags are reusable up to 100 times and I think you get 2 in a pack. Ideal if you're short on time but need fed.The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
