(last post for a bit as am aware could be arrested)

Changing- we do not have a proper table but have discovered that we have a good height chest of drawers we used this with a very large drawer placed on top the wrong way round so the lip stops the drawer from sliding, inside we have a full sized mat plus towels for padding the edge and avoiding arm him hitting his arms and legs on the sides although drawer big enough and mat stops him getting out of position

Wow Ro, you've been busy on here this morning!

Gilly, sorry to hear about the possible reflux. It's horrible when they cry and you can't sort it out for them. My LO had something going on last night, way windier than usual and really complaining, plus getting really frustrated even while feeding. It took ages to settle her but DH took her away and I had a great start to the night, and once she did settle she only woke up twice. Think that was the best night's sleep I've had since she was born :j

I've not braved the reusable nappies yet. I think there was something on here about waiting until baby is 8lb or so, and she is probably there now. I was thinking about putting them on her today but DH thought we should wait until after the next massive poo to start off on the easy stuff! We've got some totsbots and little lambs in the small sizes. She's still in size 1 disposables. I do intend to keep using them for out and about as it's just easier.

And on that note, she's complaining and there is a familiar smell about - I think I may have the massive poo to clear up...

Yep, that nappy was rather  and she screamed her little heart out while I changed her and cleaned it all up :(. Also, I discovered I have the wrong size covers for the washable nappies and they are way too big for her, so need to get some smaller ones before I can start on that.

Anyone else used one of the iphone apps for playing white noise sounds to baby to help them settle and sleep? We've got one that has a monitor setting and when she makes noise over a certain level it kicks in. Really seems to help when she is overtired or there is nothing particular wrong, and even calm her a little when she is crying for food. DH says it is the best £1.50 he ever spent!!

Hi Ro. Not a problem if it's just you and me posting today!

It seems to be called Baby Sleep. There are a range of noises on there, and LO seems to like the vacuum sound (odd as I don't think we've had the hoover out since we had her - in defence of the cleanliness of our house though we do have a lot of wooden floors so sweeping and mopping has been done!).

You can play individual sounds when you want or use the monitor setting so it plays the sound you pick for as long as you want whenever baby volume starts to ramp up! You need to turn the phone onto 'plane mode' so it doesn't emit any signals while near baby for long periods (definitely doing this for peace of mind), and change settings to stop the phone going to sleep mode.

We figured it had to be worth a try, and it does seem to be working for us. There are various similar apps so worth having a look.
