Well gave LO 3oz of breast milk on it's own between 4pm-5pm and he's still down, so seem to have turned a corner!

    HI Ladies

Can I please ask a question to you all -

I really really don't want a sweep when I see my midwife this Thursday. Can they induce using other methods without having to do the sweep. I'll be 41wks this Saturday....
I just feel like there's no room for baby anymore and my ribs are starting to kill me

Sweep shouldn't be too bad Mozzy, I had a midwife trying to stretch my dilation from 4cm to 5cm so I could get an epidural and it wasn't even that sore :rotfl:

You can refuse a sweep though if you don't want one, it's just the most natural way or starting things off without induction drugs etc.

  • Thanks Lirin, have given her a mixed bottle and it seemed to go down well. I am just keen to ensure she is drinking enough as vomits a lot.

    Glad feeding going well Gilly.

Mozzy, I would recommend having the sweep (!). My waters were broken for me and I was put on a hormone drip which I found very restrictive and I was in labour for a long time with the contractions coming close together but not being dialated enough. I would much have preferred for things to happen naturally.

Yes I think she does, but she is not distressed and doesnt cry when she vomits in fact she seems to find it funny. She isnt sick after every feed either. I spoke to the doctor at her check up and she said that as she was putting on weight and seemed content and happy aside being sick lots that she wouldnt recommend giving her any medication for it.

My little girl was exactly the same. just smiled when immunised too. I had to state her case repeatedly for her to eventually receive treatment, but I think I was too late in getting that as she has now progressed to food refusal, apparently as a result of the distress that the early reflux caused her :( Please see a different gp if the vommiting concerns you as I would not wish this on anybody.

Thanks, I took the view that as she doesnt seem distressed and I would describe her as a happy and content baby that the vomiting was just one of those things and that she woud grow out of it - I will discuss with the gp when she goes for her injections next week.

Sorry I realise my gloom and doom post is the worst case scenario possible. I am a bit oversensitive at the moment as I was happily fobbed off with the growing/developing normally mindset when my 3 year old was a baby.....however after a series of recent hospital appointments I am a very angry lady as my little boy apparently has lived through 3.5 years of misery being untreated for severe acid reflux :(

But anyway on a more positive note :) would anybody possibly have any use for 2 dress/pinafore type outfits with matching tights from the next pink and mink winter collection? They were bought for my daughter but never worn as they just wouldnt have worked with a baby who was as constantly sick as she was. They are 6-9 month size please let me know if anybody could use them
