God I'm the opposite, my OH has been fantastic, pulling more weight then I do. :o I was really really sore after the birth and he wouldn't let me do anything. I think I've only changed about 10 nappies since he was born. Probably why I'm dreading him going back as much :o Finally I feel like my body is starting to heal, I'm uncomfortable rather than in pain and stingy constantly. Noone warns you how much pain you are in after giving birth, they bloody well should!

    HI Ladies

Can I please ask a question to you all -

I really really don't want a sweep when I see my midwife this Thursday. Can they induce using other methods without having to do the sweep. I'll be 41wks this Saturday....
I just feel like there's no room for baby anymore and my ribs are starting to kill me

mozzy if you don't want one you don't have too, I was never made to feel I had to had to do it. I found it a bit odd and uncomfortable but if you find smears painful I can see why it would be an issue for you. If you do decide to get one just tell the MW if it gets too painful or you want to stop. And remember, they don't always work anyway. I had one at term and baby was still 9 days late. They'll come when they're ready:)

Nothing much to report here, I'm finding it hard to shake off a chest infection and everything just seems 10 times harder at the moment, probably because I'm so tired. Baby is doing great though, she wants to stand all the time though which is cute and exhausting at the same time lol

Kira, you're definitely not being unreasonable and your OH shouldn't even need to be asked to not go. Its horrible being sick with a baby to take care of as well and you really need your OH to be helping out as much as possible. I hope he sees sense and was just having an off moment. Look after yourself and hope you feel better soon x

Gilly hope to god u had more pain relief at home than the paracetamol as that would have sucked big time. I know I bang on about it but it was the valley cushion that helped things feel more comfortable plus all the drugs...

Right better change LO he stinks !

Do babies know when you've put them in your favourite babygro?! Amelia generally lives in them, unless we're off out anywhere special, partly because we also only have a couple of proper outfits that fit at the moment as most of the clothes we have are 0-3 months which is too big for her still...

Anyway, why is it that within a pretty small period of time, if I put her in my favourite babygro, she'll spit up all down it, whereas if I put her in a plain white one, she could probably go days without making it dirty?! :rotfl:

    Hi Ladies,

Just on a quick break from the hospital, got my discharge planning meeting tomorrow so that's exciting and should finally get a discharge date!

I've been rooming in with Poppy for the last few weeks and I'm knackered. Last night I was chuffed to bits to get 2 hours undisturbed sleep! In the days before Poppy I needed 8 hours at least!! She is a proper nightowl and wakes up around 3.00am and just stares around the room!! My poor eyes sting from tiredness!

Hope all other new mummies are managing OK.

    xx

I know just what you mean! Poppy only has 1 pretty babygro that fits her properly (newborn are huge on her still!) and she always either poo's on it or is sick down the front. Most of the time she has a long sleeved vest, cardigan and little leggings on. I must change her outfit at least 5 times a day, the little monkey waits until I change her bum and usually does a poo explosion which ends up on her vest and leggings! I've never had so much washing to do!

No, they gave me paracetamol  they did give me codeine but the community midwife said it would cause constipation so I'm trying to weigh up what's worse :rotfl:

My "downstairs" really hurt till recently, when i started putting a coating of witch hazel gel on my pad in the appropriate area. The pain has got SOOOO much better since then, you would not believe it, and my discharge has dropped right down. I'd almost be happy without pads now, only they are doing a great job at catching the little accidents that are happening most times i throw up..

On baby grows, i'm having the opposite problem. LO has outgrown all the newborn stuff already, as its only to 9lb, and we discovered on Sunday, she literally no longer fits into the lovely Next 1month baby grows either. I accidentally put her into one of the 3-6 month baby grows on monday, and it didnt look big on her at all. I only realised when i was taking it off and saw the label!! She is only 3.5 weeks old for goodness sake!

I need to send DH to sainsbo's to buy some more 0-3 and 3-6 with the voucher i got with the last shop (5p off fuel when spend £20 on clothes).
    Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Mines has been a lot better last night and today. Thank God, as I was in pain. I guess it just takes time :o maternity pads are a god send though, as they're so padded and comfy!
