Thanks for raising it koalamummy, thats why I love this thread as you can learn a lot from other people's experiences. I am not too worried yet as my niece was also a very sick baby, but will be monoitoring it carefully and will ensure I come and ask you for advice if things get worse.
Good luck Mozzy too x0 -
Omg LO just pooed all over his changing mat, and looked so content doing it too, I could not stop laughing, and I'm convinced some wee came out
must get doing my pelvic floors

Did he then wee on you while you were distracted by the poo... or is that just my little monkey?0

Those who are bfing, do you sometimes get a very painful prickly feeling in a boob, like it's being poked with needles from inside? I get it randomly and had it today, absolutely kills. Not sure if its boob filling up or something else? Was after a half-feed today (Ella had a mass poo clearout mid feed!) and went on for about half an hour, expressed an ounce to see if that would help, can still feel it but not half as painful as it was earlier.Little lady arrived 13/12/110

Please see a different gp if the vommiting concerns you as I would not wish this on anybody.
i know where your coming from, i had a very poorly nephew, in hospital most of the time due to an illness
i watched the nurse giving him injections once and asked why he just smiled at her, her reply was " if pain is all they know then its normal for them and they are used to it, thats why he smiles at me"
broke my heart to hear that.now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -
HI Ladies
Can I please ask a question to you all -
I really really don't want a sweep when I see my midwife this Thursday. Can they induce using other methods without having to do the sweep. I'll be 41wks this Saturday....
I just feel like there's no room for baby anymore and my ribs are starting to kill me
its not too uncomfotable hun. bit like a smear test with a tug lol. its meant to be a more natural way to start it off, although didnt work for me. i ended up with ripening tablets and drip and having waters broke etc took all day long was the worst labour ive had yet because i was enduced,
personally i would take the sweep , when your in labour they have to do a similar thing to check how diltated you are anyway.x
goodluck. xnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -
OH's first day back at uni today, and I am pooping my pants, he's only in 2-4 and only left 20 minutes ago, but I'm a nervous wreck. LO is sleeping in his pram, but I know he'l be up soon. It's so nerve wracking.
He's in a full day Friday  God knows how I'll cope

There seem to be a lot of ladies on here either mix feeding of thinking of stopping bfing as it seems their milk isn't enough for their lo. I really don't want to sound like the bfing police here but that is actually a really rare occurrance, it's just such a consuming thing in the first 6 weeks or so because babies need feeding so frequently due to the breast milk being so easily digested. They also cluster feed in order to increase the mum's supply which can also be confused for being constantly hungry. I have no issue with ffing and firmly believe that happy mum=happy baby, but just didn't want the ladies on here to feel they couldn't meet their babies needs. Babies have a sucking reflex and milk comes out of bottles a lot easier than the breast, so this is often why a baby will just keep drinking from a bottle, not always because they're hungry.
That said, I completely understand how physically draining (and sore)bfing a newborn can be because you're tied to the sofa all day doing nothing but feeding and are constantly suffering from broken sleep! The most important thing is that our babies are fed and loved, no-one should beat themselves up about how their lo is fed.

Gilly, I remember that feeling-still get it! Don't be hard on yourself- if you have no time for things, leave them undone. I have days with rose where it's constant feed and change (or cuddle, she's very taken with that right now!), and nothing is done- not even brushing my hair. Then I have other days when it's going fantastic, I've washing on and done, dinner made, the dogs are brushed etc- and maybe only a tiny blip, like the realisation I've gotta disinfect my hairbrush now as I grabbed the wrong one to use on stinky mutt.....
I think I worried so much over how I would cope that I completely forgot I coped fine in the hospital (well, reasonably, considered...). the only difference now is you have lost that safety blanket! You will do better than you think- Rose is 7 weeks old, and we've had a knocked head once. She's happy, fed, cuddled, warm, I've managed not to drop her or kill her- think that's all the major bases covered.. If you care enough to worry, You'll do fine, and if you feel you can't cope, text me and I'll call down. May even have an awake child this time.
Managed to do a major wardrobe clearout- have actually never done one, I've had some of the clothes since I was 14! Rarely shop for clothes. Found a velvet jacket my mum bought for dad when they met- which they both hate. It's my jacket of choice now. Filled binbags full of clothing- there was lots I will never wear again. Bought it to a shop that pays for receiving used clothing, and was paid enough to buy groceries this week!
(Also found some vest tops that were low and tight before, but after pregnancy and breastfeeding- they're now smaller than some of my bras!)
With breastfeeding, will my chest ever go back to it's previous size? I have a drawer full of bras I can't wear as they're toosmall, and wondering if I should hold on to them.. Underwear and shoes are my weakness.
I think I've made a casserole. Will see when it comes out of the oven- it smells good anyway. Which probably means the taste is subjective. Rose is chattering to a snail toy on her playmat, seems to be having a ball of a time!0
