Refluxers will do that, the acid comes up, and it burns, so they drink to cool the burning, which it does but after a short period of time, the acid will start to come back again and it's a vicious circle :( Hence they usually gain weight brilliantly as they feed pretty much constantly.

My wee one used to cry almost all day, the only times he wouldn't would be between 5/6am and 9am, as he'd screamed for so long that he couldn't stay awake any longer. Other than that he'd only sleep on me, as long as he was laying on my chest he'd be a lot happier, but that isn't constructive or something that can be done all day every day.

Go to your GP, mention the constant hiccups, the bad nappies, being unable to lay on her back, how unsettled she is.

In the meantime, hold her upright for 20/30 minutes after each feed to minimize the acid coming back up, if you can tilt her moses basket or crib up so her head is higher than the rest of her body, this will minimize the acid too.

Massive hugs, dealing with a refluxer is hard bloomin' work :( xx

Trying to decide if I can get motivated to go get Erin weighed today - should probably go just so it'll have been relatively recently done if I deliver this bump early again.

On the other hand - we have cake here and there's snow outside so those events to factor in to consideration.

  • Hope you get an appointment Morocha!

What did you decide in the end Dizzi?? I'd have gone with cake!

We have got a hard white bit protruding out of little ones gum at the front. Dr Google thinks it is a Bohns Nodule rather than a tooth - babies don't teeth at 8 weeks do they?!

22lb now - she's actually on the same centile for her actual and adjusted age (I want them to do her length again as she's grown a ridiculous amount lengthwise - basically like a triffid). Hid the cake so it was still here when I got back.

Well I had to save the health visitors from boredom as no one had gone down there today because of the crap weather - they were so bored they were grabbing you as you walked in the door!

dr rang but just before him a hv, explained the situation to her, she said indigestion, get him to prescribe gaviscon.... he rings... explained everythin and how unhappy she is, how stress we are, honestly im running out of patience after 16 days consoling a baby day and night constant crying. he said some babies are just like that and tried to leave it at that. I said HV thinks is reflux, he said it could be, prescribed gaviscon.
Want to see her tomorrow afternoon to see how is her health in general.

What pancakes and fillings are we planning on making today?
I've got lemon juice, sugar, chocolate spread, toffee sauce, chopped bananas and ice cream!! Going to put it all on the table and let the boy dig in! I think Noah is going to have fun with that!
