Morning all,
Hope you're all still asleep! I'm on my way to Heathrow... Not a bad night - little lady slept until 2am without a peep, then decided it was time to be picked up. Thankfully she fell asleep again pretty quickly and no sitting up practice took place (although I did find her sitting up in her cot when I went in there at 2am, so maybe she'd already finished for the night...). She was sleeping peacefully when I left, so I didn't dare say goodbye for fear of waking her.
I've written down her daily routine and stuck it on the fridge, taught hubby how to make up her milk bottles, shown him which clothes match with what and filled the freezer with meals for her. I will no doubt come home to a fair bit of chaos, but I know she'll be well looked after and that's what matters0 -
Have a good trip Nutella, enjoy your peaceful nights!
Well it seems he was teasing me on Saturday night by sleeping through - we were up for over 2.5 hours again last night. He's still asleep so I'm having a cuppa and raiding the biscuit tin - the way I'm feeling today healthy eating can do one, I'm having biscuits and chocolate all day if I want to! Although I did eat a whole bar of the Oreo dairy milk last night, wish I had some of that left now...

Oh no Katie, hope you get to have a nap later today. We need to get stricter about not picking her up and putting her in our bed, but want to wait until she's settled at nursery - I think she needs her cuddles at the moment.
I'm sat in Pret with porridge & a big coffee - just been raiding WHSmith for chocolate & magazines - the only magazines I've read since LO was born have been at the hairdresser... I also haven't watched a whole film from beginning to end in a year, so I intend to make the most of the in-flight entertainmentCan you tell I'm trying to convince myself that everything's going to be fine?!...

Question for those doing weaning the traditional puree-based way: when did you stop spoon-feeding your LO and let them loose with the spoon themselves? She'll be 9 months in a week's time - is it time to start practising self-feeding? She's pretty good with things like toast, rice cakes and fruit, and she loves putting things in her mouth, so I'm sure she'd enjoy having a go with a spoon, but I'm not sure I would enjoy it quite as much!
We're only just starting to here, as he's decided he feeds himself now! I figure save myself the mess and wait till the coordination is better.
On the travel front, I got a pebble as it is meant to be one of the flatter seats, and when he was little used to stop after maybe an hour and a half and get him out for a cuddle/feed for a few minutes before carrying on.0 -

Maybe. Start saying 'no'. It's one of the first words babies learn around 9 or 10 months (along with mumma, dada and their own name)! Move him away and try to look cross. He'll certainly understand your facial expression and it won't be long before he understands what 'no' means too."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Miss Bunbury, I had a Close carrier, I loved it! He's a bit big for front carrying now though, so I need to think about a back one.
Turtlemoose, was lovely to meet you and Reuben, we must do it again
We started with an Ahahah noise as well as 'no', he definitely knows what both mean, he just doesn't always obeyIt's a word I like to teach very young, I'm the boss and they need to learn it before they're bigger than me

I'll take him away or lift him down but he just grins like a loon. *sigh*

OK - so where exactly did my teeny tiny not even 5lb baby go? Just got some of her 12-18 month stuff out and it fits perfectly... she ain't even 10 months till the weekend! It's her length not width - she's just HUGE!
Been out shopping with her granny - now have everything up to 2 years sorted and bought in various sales... at her current rate of growth that'll last me till about June if I'm lucky! I know dad's tall but seriously!

It seems to depend how good the prize isIf it's only of minor interest then ok, if something good the hand goes back as soon as I stop saying it
