My necklace is from here http://www.personalisedtreasures.co.uk/userimages/design-your-own-charm-necklace(2749351).htm, I just emailed her with what I wanted and she did it. If you scroll down to the pictures of the different charms mine is one of the aa hearts and a JJ round, off the small stamping blanks pic. Was about £30 inc postage.
I've got one tattoo too, a Pegasus on my upper arm. Only black though, no colour. Not sure labour will have improved my pain threshold as I had every type of pain relief they had going!
Me too katie! definately got my moneys worth! I had pethadine, g and a and an epidural! XLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Same hereEpidurals are the best thing ever
My LO can go from lying down to sitting up all by herself! :T She's done it twice this morning - I left her in the cot to get her milk, she was lying down when I left her, and when I got back she was sitting up and pulling on the animals on her mobile! Job for OH today: move the cot down to the lowest level.
We had a good night though - she was obviously worn out by nursery yesterday. Not a peep until 4.30am - I don't think that's ever happened before! In fact I had to go and check on her once to make sure she was OKI had no intention of starting the day at 4.30 though, so put her in bed with me and she slept until 6.30. Am now drinking coffee and eating crumpets - I hadn't had any in ages, but just been reminded of how much I love them
Hope everyone else had a good night too. Katie, how did he get on without a dummy all night?0 -

I agree dizzi - I'm viewing the breast pump as rental really as they go for a decent price on eBay compared to what I paid.
Breast feeding mummies I'm after you again! Miss insatiable appetite has been at the 2 hour feeds again - she seems quite agitated after 15 or so minutes abd keeps latched on but seems annoyed that nothing is coming out abd pulls at the boob. A quick squeeze suggest there is still milk there but I decided to switch her over to the other side which I never do and she seems happy again. I don't want her to get too much fore milk by doing this. I didn't think milk could run out? I'd it possible I don't have enough?
Sling works great for us. I have two, one like a stretchy but a bit more supportive which is great, no sore back at all. The other is like a ring sling but that means only one shoulder takes the weight so it's less comfy but more convenient for feeding on the run. I have used our pushchair all of once.
On the food side, how long does she feed from the 2nd boob? Mr here can be very efficient if he wants now (5 min feeds!) Although he does sometimes have a leisurely meal. He's always been good at popping off the boob himself when finished.0 -
Not sure about the thread Nutella, maybe wait for Kira, and see what she says, since she started it
Wow at your job, sounds very interesting
it will make things easier leaving LO if you like your job though I think. How did you get into it? (tell me to bog off if I'm being nosy
)
Well I have interesting news to shareI think A is finally growing out of his intolerance, we have been trialing small amounts of dairy all week and no reaction at all :j I am one very excited mama. He had one whole bottle of Cow & Gate Follow on tonight before bed (the most he's had all week) so we will see how things go with that, very nervous but keeping my fingers crossed.
Gilly, that's potentially amazing news! :j How did he get on with his whole bottle of C&G?
My job (don't worry, you're not being nosy) took me ages to get into, I always knew that was what I wanted to do (travel + make some sort of difference to people's lives, cheesy as it sounds) and I did a degree in international development, but it's an extremely competetive sector, so actually getting a proper job in it took me another six years! I worked in community development in London + in local government during that time and did lots of volunteering and travelling before eventually getting a foot in the door. The good thing is that although it's very hard to get into, once you're in you're in so to speak, so getting other jobs once you have some experience isn't too difficult. Definitely the right career for me, although not ideal when you have a small child

Well not a peep, all night. Which is actually really unlike we usually get a dummy wake up or something but nothing, hes still sleeping now. Will need to keep an eye on his nappies today, but fingers crossed :j
Oh wow you worked hard to get into your job then! I still don't have a career or any idea really what I want to do  iv always just had jobs, nothing life changing.i really should get my finger out and buckle down with that probably.

Thnx Gilly. I really like the look of the ones the other ladies posted for whenever we decide on another baby. Im going to google a rose and rebellion now. We only really used our carrier on holiday really so it was a waste of money
I really want a pendant with A's foot or handprint inside...theyre only tiny ones, one of our friends had a pandora charm done. Anyone think its a bit tacky??! Dont want to look silly!!
Xxx
My friend had silver cufflinks made for her other half that were thumbprints of their kids. They're adorable. I suspect a pendant would be just as nice."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Evening all
Thought you might enjoy this article about baby names: www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-21229475 It really is shocking what some people call their children  Although I must admit to laughing out loud at Post Office. And I did once meet someone called Lettuce
I think it's spelt Lettice, despite what the article says. I agree though - a funny name but perhaps not as weird as Cabbage.
ETA: Just read it all... who would call their kid Vagina?? Outrageous!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
turtlemoose wrote: »Fluff that's an extortionate amount of money for a pram!
I know. Blame my profligate other half. That pram cost three times the amount my first car did"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I never thought about feeding when I bought my mei tei. I'd never be without it thpugh... it was £25 and has a hood and a zippy pocket on the front. I'd never get a pram in my KA!
What sorts of slings can be used for feeding and up to what age? May invest in one
Moneypenny... I hope my memory serves me right, and it was you worrying about not having enough milk and constant feeding? I go through this every other day with Dewi. I'm sure everything is fine. Try burping or maybe putting her down and waiting for her to ask for more? Dewi sometimes seems like he wants a feed but will happily sit/lay down for 15min...0 -
Quiet on here today! Lovely weather here, freezing cold but lovely and bright so hope you're all out enjoying it too
.
Nutella your job sounds really interesting, you must have really wanted to get into it! Hope next week is ok, imagine 3 full nights sleep!!!!!!!!!!
We had a good night thanks, he seems to be getting the hang of life without night feeds and without his dummy - slept til 5 when I popped in and settled him, then got up at 7. Still hopeful he'll be going all night soon, but this is heaven compared to the last few weeks!
We've been for a walk earlier- tested out the new buggy (loved it!! So light compared to the other one I kept nearly firing him out when I went to go up a kerb!), he's demolished his dinner and has been asleep for 2 hours now. Next job is to sort out the jumperoo ready for eBay, not sure how it all fitted in the box as the box is now full but I've still got half of it on the floor?!Newborn thread member
