Morning
. Guess which mummy didn't have to get up in the night?!?!?! He moaned for a minute at 5 but settled himself before I went through, then woke up at 6.45
:T:D:T
Nutella re cutlery - although we're mainly blw now he still has a bit of a jar occasionally if he's really not going for the other stuff I give him, and he has yoghurts too. I've just started giving him the spoon loaded with yoghurt, let him take it when its pretty close to the target and its not too messy. Tend to feed him the jarred stuff myself as that stuff stains if it gets on fabrics.
Yaaaaay! :j Long may it continue! Terrible night here - she woke up at 1.30 and wouldn't settle back to sleep, and as soon as I walked into her room I could smell why...Changing her nappy obviously involved picking her up, and once she'd been picked up (and woken up a bit more) she decided there was no way she was going back in the cot all by herself! So I put her in bed with me, and she spent the next three hours practising all her newfound mobility skills - rolling around, sitting up, moving around the bed. She eventually fell asleep from what I assume must have been exhaustion and woke up for the day at 7. I'm tired!
Thanks for the reply re. cutlery - what you're doing sounds sensibleI think I'm going to start giving her a spoon too and see how we go.

Morning ladies,
Nutella - yay for sitting up :T and hello to your little one!!
Katiechoc - well done to George for sleeping well
Last day of plasterer being here today so hopefully we can sort the lounge out tonight, haven't been able to do any washing as our kitchen is off our lounge so can't really get in there much, living with 4 of the male species means an overflowing washing basket at the best of times!!

Morning all
Katie, yey for last night!! Hope it continues.
Nutella, we had a mediocre (?) one here, up for an hour between 11:30 and 12:30 but then he lay in till 9:20. Last time he lay in was before he got poorly so hoping its just catching up on sleep.
Sammie, hope your lounge looks nice! What colours are you having?

Ugh terrible night here, up at 4, 5 and 6. Plus a bonus wakeup all by myself due to a nightmare. I dreamt I went to get Reuben out of the cot and he had no socks on (he never has no socks on so it was unusual) and I thought "odd, his feet look a funny colour" and as I picked him up he was dead and had been for some time. The dream continued for a few weeks after this - so I had to tell everyone he had died, go through everyone asking me about it etc. I woke up and had been crying in my sleep, and I just laid in bed and sobbed for ages, it was really upsetting!!!!! Silly really, but it was such a vivid dream. Has made me feel a bit unsettled all day
lots of cuddles for reu today!!!!

Thanks sunshine. I've been in to check on him napping twice now, even though we have the angelcare sensor pad on. *shudders* just can't quite shake this horrible feeling. He did make me laugh though ,he's sideways at the very bottom the cot and on his face....NOT how I put him in there!
He's developed a new habit - pinching. I think its because hes figured out how to grip with thumb and forefinger, as I've noticed this is how he now eats, he can pick up individual peas etc (so cute!). But he likes to practice this by pinching, and he does it quite hard....and I was woken up this morning by him pinching my nipple  !! Any tips on discouraging this? Is he old enough (8 months) to understand "no"? As soon as I look at him when he does it he giggles!!0 -
What a horrid dream turtle! *hugs* and ouch with the nipple pinching!!! I don't think they can be too young for "no". Sooner he hears it and understands the better
Sorry some of you had bad nights lately. Dewi surprised me and slept from arpund half 6 - half 9 last night...took til half 11 to get him back down. Woke at 3, 6 and up for the day at 8. So not bad really. I got an extra wake up at 2... OH coming to bed. It's left me feeling quite tired but I'm sure I'll survive XD0 -
Oh turtle what a horrid dream! Hope you're feeling better now?
We don't have a problem with pinching but he was/is in the habit of coming over and sinking his pointy little teeth into us. Now if he looks like he's going to give it a try ie mouth open, resting on my arm or whatever I say quite sternly "no biting", if he still bites I say no loudly and put him down/move him away from me for a minute. It seems to be working, he hasn't got me since we started being more consistent with it. The main thing is to not laugh back when he giggles! This morning G crawled towards the tv, looked over his shoulder at me and OH, giggled like a loon and zoomed to it with his sticky little fingers! Soooo hard to be stern and not laugh at the little monkey!
Hope everyone with less than good nights last night get some decent sleep tonight. Nutella hope the nighttime rolling/sitting practice is short lived!Newborn thread member
