Thanks Jen. Its ridiculous really, I know its largely hormonal, cos i started crying again reading your post!
I do appreciate him, he came home and put dinner on for us, and was very sweet... Just wish i got as much sleep as he does (he can sleep through a full on wail no problems!)

I feel that as i'm up in the night feeding then OH should be up as well and get annoyed that OH can have a good night sleep but i can't.
So far we are having good nights, she usually falls alseep between 9 and 11 then doesn't wake up until her next feed which is usually between 2 and 3 then wakes up again at 5 or 6, so have been getting nearly 6 hours sleep but don't feel like i have as its broken up. I do hope it continues.

Got DD weighed again today and is now 8lb 13oz and gained 7oz, got to go back next week to review it. Saw horrible HV again, she really did annoy me - asked me again if i was eating, and after i said yes she asked my mum as well, felt like saying to her 'ive already told you i'm eating why are you asking my mum'! Does make me upset that i feel like i have to explain that i'm naturally slim.

Oh totally get you on this one! DH comes up to bed, after i've been up with bean for a few hurs of feeding non stop, multiple nappy changes, burping and cry soothing. He gets into bed, kisses us both goodnight, and then as head hits the pillow, bang, out he goes.
Then i'm left sitting there with bean attached to a nipple, nearly crying with tiredness, listening to him snore.
    :mad::mad:

He says, no point him being up as well changing nappies and offering sympathy, when ive got to be awake to feed her. Grrrr.

Minor question. Anyone who's had stitches- how long did they last? I had 2nd degree tears, and it's been six weeks now.... DH has just checked and they're still there. Still stings!

ok peep need advice again, Breastfeeding is so complicated

Ellie has a cold so been expressing some milk and giving it in bottles anyway i can express 3 oz off my left side but can only just get 1 oz off my right. health visitor said at ellies size 10lb 6oz she should be having 5 oz each feed!!! ekk,

I have started eating more again and expressing when i can.

How do i increase the milk on my right breast? I have been putting Ellie on the right until it is empty then on the left to finish to try an stimulate that side more. also expressing more often off that side. any other tips?

I would be inclined to let Ellie let you know if she wants more milk as every baby is different. My LO vomits a lot but is still putting on weight, is happy and content and I let her feed for as long as she likes on the breast and when she has a bottle never drinks 5oz in one go and she was 10 pounds 11 when last weighed. (she is eight weeks tomorrow).

Something else I have found really helpful is there is an app on breastfeeding. You basically tap the left or right b o o b and then a timer starts and it will record the information for you, hence you can see when you have fed, for how long and on what side. You can upgrade the app for 69p and this keeps a record and even shows you on a chart. I find this especially good as can see in the morning at what time LO woke for a feed and how long she fed for.

    Hi Ro!

This is taken from the Who Guidelines, but I suppose everyone will have different views:

It is safest to prepare a fresh feed each time one is needed, and to consume
immediately. This is because prepared feeds provide ideal conditions for
bacteria to grow - especially when kept at room temperature. If you need to
prepare feeds in advance for use later, they should be prepared in individual
bottles, cooled quickly and placed in the refrigerator (no higher than 5ºC).
Throw away any refrigerated feed that has not been used within 24 hours.

No idea but they sting like hell :( I had a first degree tear and midwife in hosp said 6 weeks and they should dissolve.

    Thank you Mozzy xx

Lirin/Gilly - stitches they did not tell me what classification mine were but had episiotomy and 6 stitches. Had them checked as they murdered last week but she said stitches had dissolved but had another area that was not healed. So they were dissolved in about 10 days and have no stinging just the odd twinge if overdo things

Hey peeps Ellie was really sick again last night before bed. We slept naked together last night to try and increase my milk. That seems to have worked along with expressing yesterday as my less favourable side seems fuller and when she drunk off it I could hear and see her swallow which she doesn't seem to do on that side. It was lovely cuddling her naked all night.
I feel good today going for a drink and cake with my sister this morning then to the breastfeeding group. Also going to open a savings account for little miss Ellie$ halifax regular saver looks the best.
