We've got little baby spots too, they seem to be mainly where he dribbles milk.
Maybe now he's having a break from the feeding frenzy of the last few days, they might improve! We actually got some blocks of sleep last night and this morning, instead of constant feeding. Only problem is he keeps losing interest and spraying milk everywhere.
Gilly, I went to the in-laws when he was about three days old, I couldn't wait to get home. We only stayed one night and I ended up hiding the fact that I was crying cos I wanted to leave. And they're lovely people, I just couldn't do sociable for more than a day.0 -
Oh Gilly, my eldest was a colicky screamer and drove me to despair at times, but from one onwards was so much easier, and is now the loveliest teenager who causes me very little stress.0

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have those pad things that you can freeze/fridge/microwave so I will microwave them now. Due to express again at 1 so hopefully itl work. Did try and get Aaron to latch on this morning and he wasnt interested, probably because he's been getting bottles
will persevere though.
Also I've never been so in love with my OH he has been truly amazing all through labour and the birth and even more now we're home. He can't do enough for us.
Gilly - When my milk came in I got really engorged and my LO couldnt latch on as my boobs were like rocks! I found that massaging really helped get the milk flowing and if i expressed before attemting to feed LO it helped her latch on. I didnt really have the knack for expressing at first so i just massaged them in a hot bath/shower and let the milk drip out, i found that less stressful than attempting to use the pump etc. I had also given LO a few bottles of expressed milk and the sister suggested I use nipple shields as they are shaped like a bottle teat and helped LO latch on to my massive boobs. Within a week I had got her off the nipple shields and she got better at latching with each feed. I also stopped offering her the bottle. At first she only fed for a few mins but eventually the feeds got longer. It was really hard and I spent a lot of time in tears and wanting to switch to FF but im glad I perservered, it has got easier. I hope that helps a bit.
Ive had a difficult few days with lots of tears, not even sure why! However i slept better last night and today is good! I think hormones have a lot to answer for! Hugs to those who need them xDD born 14/12/11

ok peep need advice again, Breastfeeding is so complicated
Ellie has a cold so been expressing some milk and giving it in bottles anyway i can express 3 oz off my left side but can only just get 1 oz off my right. health visitor said at ellies size 10lb 6oz she should be having 5 oz each feed!!! ekk,
I have started eating more again and expressing when i can.
How do i increase the milk on my right breast? I have been putting Ellie on the right until it is empty then on the left to finish to try an stimulate that side more. also expressing more often off that side. any other tips?:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Oh dear. DHs first full day back at work. He got home and all i wanted to do was cry. Not sure why i feel so tearful and emotional, other than sheer tiredness after last night i guess
. He tried talking to me, but i couldnt even raise the energy to reply, so all he got was grunts. Terrible i know, but i just couldnt make any words come out.
Fingers crossed its a better night tonight, or i think i might have a brain meltdown after 5 nights/days in a row of less than 5 hours sleep.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Jen, It sounds like something i read about in my "week by week" book - it could be "favoured breast" kicking in, where you find one breast easier, so you subconsciously offer it more, and it ends up producing more milk than the other.
The book recommends always offering the "non favoured" i.e. your right, first at every feed, regardless of which you gave last time, and using that one to express from, and that if you do this for a number of days, production should even up.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Thanks Jen. Its ridiculous really, I know its largely hormonal, cos i started crying again reading your post!
I do appreciate him, he came home and put dinner on for us, and was very sweet... Just wish i got as much sleep as he does (he can sleep through a full on wail no problems!)Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I don't know about 'favoured' but I somehow seem to end up doing a long feed on one side and ending up lopsided0

OH has gone to ikea to buy some storage for Aarons ever expanding wardrobe! I feel lost
Managed to express about 3oz earlier after using the heatpacks so pleased with that. Infacol also seems to have kicked in as A is a lot more content today.
Cant believe I've lost my pregnancy gain already! Hopefully itl keep going that way as its needed!
Ooh also he had his 5 day check today and had only lost 4oz of his borth weight which considering his feeding problems is great. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
