Gilly-i found the first few weeks so hard and i was in tears as well. I know everyone says it but it does get easier and so much more rewarding as well when they learn to smile and then all the other things they learn to do. I didn't enjoy the first few weeks but love it now. Right now she is playing with her walker and chattering away to herself, so cute! Anyway please feel free to rant away in here, feels so much better to have someone to talk to.

Jenjade- sounds like a hard day. I do not miss the expressing, used to get wasted as well as the little madam wouldn't take it.

Congrats to the new mums who joined us :j Gilly try just to roll with it and enjoy your baby when he is so wee. It will get much easier when your milk comes in and formula will help stop him losing too much weight.
I was watching 15 and counting last night. I just can't imagine having that many kids. And I was thinking 2 were enough to keep me busy. Mind you, seeing a wee newborn made me very broody!!!

I have had a busy week as DD's birthday party was at the weekend. DD had a ball but I was very busy as Daniel wouldn't sleep and some thoughtless dad left me with a 3 year old (with developmental problems too :-( ) and i spent a lot of my time stopping him running out the door, stopping him poking the birthday cake, stopping him lifting things like cameras etc. He ate a whole plate of marshmallows and drank at least 3 fruitshoots. I was so cross at being dumped with him, and thankfully my 2 friends stayed and looked after Daniel for me! Wait til I see that Dad I'll give him what for!

Tried a new tactic with the nighttime sleeping. Left D in the room by himself and took the baby monitor with me. Also put him to bed earlier. Only went into him if he was proper crying (ie, tears) and it worked a treat. He did his usual and shouted every hour From 10pm onwards, but settled himself with 5 minutes each time. (I peeked a few times to make sure he was ok) and last night was fab! Went into him at 10pm as he suddenly started crying. But a wee stroke on the cheek and he was asleep again and I didn't hear him again til 6am :j :j :j :j There is light at the end of the tunnel!
Being in a different room makes such a difference. I'm convinced we were waking each other up. Keeping my fingers crossed that this will continue! Think 4 1/2 months of sleepless nights is long enough.

My 3 week little monkey has learned to push himself up his crib with his feet! I left him in correct feet to foot position, and when I next looked he was halfway up, sideways, and with his foot stuck through the bars. Good job I know not to leave him unattended in high places, but I was expecting him to roll if I did, not slide! :D

Gilly, sorry to hear you're having a hard time... It does get easier.

Noticed last night Rose has stretched- she's almost filling the moses basket! She's getting quite gurgly now, which meant I was up constantly all last night- she kept making sounds and I'd jump up to check on her, only to find she was chattering to the ceiling....

She's a bit windy as well, trumping quite a bit. She's started gulping at her bottle, so think that's why. Quite impressed by her burps- they're so loud!

Hugs to everyone who needs.... Congrats Mirror!

Well done mirror, that's fab! :D

I'm really not looking forward to tonight, it's going to be a loooong night! Every time Amelia fell asleep and I tried to put her in her Moses basket so I could get some sleep too she would end up waking after half an hour, so I've not had any extra sleep today!

Argh.... sooooo tired. Lo will not go down. She has been feeding off and on since 5pm. She does drop off but as soon as we put her down, she wakes up and cries again. It sounds like she has some wind if you lie her straight down, and she cries- so been winding her after and during a feed but that wakes her up.and she cries. Can't win.
Plus my stitches are starting to really hurt from all the up and down.

Hope everyone else having a better night.

    Morning All!

    Welcome redhead and congratulations!

This is the first night that I have not posted in the early hours somewhere on money saving expert forums. I dropped the phone between the bed and the drawers oh fgs!! Lol

Little one sounds very snuffly. Think he maybe has a light cold. Hubby thinks they are likely to get a cold in the first four weeks not sure though.
He also seems to be a bit sicky now with his feeds think that he is gulping it down too fast will keep an eye on it they think it's normal.

Realised last night hubby has not been preparing bottles in the correct way bless him, trouble is we are still confused over sterilising in the steamer now as know you are not supposed to make up more than one bottle at a time but when you open the steamer the other bottles are not sterile. I won't say what we had been doing to avoid confusion but what do others do the instructions just tell you how to use it. Last night used the cold water liquid sterilising solution until we are clear on what we are doing.
I think there may be a thread? But there is confusion??
Trouble is think what happened is mw told us what to do, I did not listen as hubby was in charge but the instructions were misinterpreted in the lack of sleep no brain power phase ( which still continues but to a lesser degree but minus the drugs lol)

Kira- one word valley cushion, borrowed one free from mw when stitches really hurt it was fab x

Hugs to kira and all who had a bad night

Hubby back to work today and being left holding the baby :0 and Dylan the Houdini (hubby spent hours reinforcing fences yesterday!)
