So we tried to pretend changing his nappy, changed his nappy, cold water on his changing cotton wool ( I know but we were desp), messing with his feet etc it was so difficult as he was practically comatose. We just got down him what we could but it's hard not to feel guilty but remember as long as you do your best, try and feed him and ask for help that's the best you can do.
The tiredness is an absolute killer so makes all of this so much harder

Also what 4nnabella said about being hormonal when milk comes in so true0 -
Oh hugs Gilly it will get easier. Make sure u get loads of skin to sakin contact it will help with getting the milk there and bonding.
Today is not a good day here! Ellie screamed nearly all night and coughed. She missed all her night feeds and she latched on then screamed and screamed!! And DD1 has a headache and feels sick.
I have 5 bottles of expressed milk from the freezer in the fridge defrosted as today is my uni day now I need to stay home with the girls so that is wasted ;-( feel very tired and fed up ;-(:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Hugs Jenjade, hope today isn't too rough on you!
Random question but has anyone got a lamb or sheepskin for their baby? My mum mentioned it the other day and said that I had one in my cot as a baby and they're good for keeping them warm in winter and cool in summer but I didn't know if they were recommended or not anymore. If I did get one I would put a sheet over it but I wondered if anyone had come across any current guidelines for using them or not... I will continue to google anyway...:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Morning all. Thank you annabella, ro and jen for your advice and support it means alot.
He took formula last night and is like a different baby today, im currently expressing and even though its still only collustrum il give him that, iam getting a decent amount out too. Hopefully thatl be helping encourage my milk to appear.
Iam in a much better frame of mind todayThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
I ran out to Asda the other day and left her with DH, was walking around before I realised I had her bottle in my hand....
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:The wind is ridiculous though, he very seldom burps but he trumps constantly.Oh and even now she trumps a lot more than burps.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a farty babyI can't believe how much she trumps!
Gilly, congrats on your baby boy. Hope things improve soon for you both!
Jen, sorry for your rough night
LO has her first vaccinations tomorrow and OH is taking her as I will cry
I was back at the GP's yesterday as I don't feel as though the PND is improving with the medication. He said it will take 4 - 6 weeks before I start to feel better, it's been 3 weeks now. I feel as though I am wishing the weeks away and missing out on enjoying my baby0 -
Glad you're feeling better today Gilly. The expressing will certainly help your milk supply and being able to carry on giving him breast milk is still good, regardless of whether it's from a bottle or from you!
WW - hope you start to feel better soon ((hugs)):j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Morning all
Gilly glad you are feeling better xx
WW wish could make things better for you, you wil get there and I understand what you are saying about feeling you are missing out but you have lots of good things to come and experience. The main thing is that you are very important and I really hope the tabs work soon if not then presumably the Gp can try a different one. Is there anything else that could be done to help alongside the medication eg aromatherapy etc
Hugs xx
4nnabella sorry have heard of sheep rugs but not sure about any guidelines
Jenjade same here with Scott minus the cough so bleary eyed day us is sigh!

We slept last night!! She woke every two to three hours for a feed and it took time for her to settle her again, but I had chunks of sleep and feel human again. She's been really alert this morning and only just dropped off after a mammoth feed first thing and top ups through the morning.
Gilly, sorry you are struggling with feeding. Getting colostrum in him will really help, and the important thing is that he is getting fed. I think the trumping is pretty common as my LO is also doing it all the time. I keep thinking she is filling her nappy but it is just the south winds! Some are so loud we can hear them across the room and it seems bizarre there is enough space in such a small baby for that much wind:rotfl:
Hugs also to jenjade, Ro and WW - I hope things get better soon.:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

well today is going to be challanging as i refuse to waste the milk i have expressed so giving her the expressed milk in bottles then expressing and freezing after she has fed. knackered.
hugs to those that need them:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j
