2 hours sleep in one go is amazing!

Well, all the sleepless nights and constant feeding seem to be working, had a postnatal appointment this morning and Amelia is up to 7lb 8oz, after dropping to 6lb 14oz at five days, from a 7lb 5oz birth weight. I'm so pleased, it makes it all worthwhile! I'd happily only ever get two hours sleep a night from now on, as long as my baby continues to thrive as she is doing...

Blimey this parenting malarkey is an emotional roller coaster isn't it, I'm so up and down at the moment, it's ridiculous!

Anyway, I was originally logging on to say that we've had another midwife check. Elliot just decided that he had room for a top-up feed though, and now he's sorted I have the cat on my lap instead! Good news as Elliot's now weighing just over his birth weight - the seemingly endless feeds last night were worth it

He has a bit of dry skin and she suggested coating him in olive oil, it's quite bizarre as I now have a basted baby Hope that does the trick though!

I also had my stitches checked and she thinks it'll be at least another couple of weeks of being sore They'd also stitched a bit too tight, which isn't helping, but she thinks it should all settle down soonish! I really want to go and see my Nan, as she's not been particularly well and she's keen to meet Elliot, but it looks like it'll be a little bit longer before I can face sitting down for a 4 hour round trip in the car...

Congratulations Gilly - great news!

How is everyone and their LOs? It's been really cold lately, but E is generally a very warm baby, so I'm never sure what to dress her in at night time so that she is neither too hot nor too cold.

Had a date night last night. First time we've been to the cinema for a year. We had dinner beforehand and I told DH I want another baby! He said we should wait until the end of the year to ttc, but by then I'll be 34 and not getting any younger. Why can't he be as broody as me?!

Well done 4nnabella ! It is all it bit emotional but I feel better now not drugged up !! My brain was so fried before what with the tiredness as well.
I had a sneaky weigh of Scott this morning as we have mw tomorrow really want to be discharged to hv but we will see. Realised have not heard about heel !!!!! test so will ask tomorrow. Also want to know scott's blood type as am rhesus neg but they did not tell me in hospital. Hope you have a better night tonight !!

Broody?!!! What's that lol birth still very fresh for me lol though mil said your not just having one..... Ermm we were lucky to have one I reminded her as I have pcos.
Does it take a year before I get to out with hubby?:eek:

Understand the age thing though think gentle persuasion is required :rotfl:

We would have been discharged to hv today but Amelia has some sore, inflamed skin at the top of her legs that the me wants to check again in a week to make sure it's gone down before discharging us. We've been putting sudocrem on it today when we change her nappy and can see an improvement already so hopefully it'll clear up in a couple of days.

I finally remembered to make our appointment today to register Amelia's birth too...

4nnabella hope Amelia's skin is better soon. Scott's is a bit flaky on hands and feet so putting olive oil on.
