I spoke too soon
she's been unsettled and crying since my last post. It's definitely trapped wind and passing it what is making her so uncomfortable.

What are her poops like Marta? Frothy or foamy looking? Is there any chance it could be a milk or lactose intolerance?
In my experience if it's tummy/bottom wind infacol will only make it worse. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
marta, Alice is the same, gets very upset when needing to fart or poo. She grunts and tenses up and eventually sobs piteously love her. I have been trying to relax her when it happens, the most success I've had so far is a combination of boob (of course!) and putting a vibrating toy snail against her tummy which actually seemed to help her poo yesterday!
Today I am also experimenting with white noise to help her sleep as I am worried her naps aren't going very well, she tends to wake after about twenty minutes and I think she is staying awake too long and ending up overtired - any tips anybody?0 -
Miss bunbury, can't remember off the top of my head how old your LO is but when G was younger I tried "wake to sleep" which seemed to work a bit, think this is the page I read. http://www.babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=223809.Newborn thread member

So much pelvic pain things are becoming flipping impossible fast - can't carry her up stairs at all (my legs almost give way getting myself up the stairs - don't trust myself with her), can barely lift her to carry her out to the car (can do it but am hiding tears by the time I get to the car door), can only walk a few hundred yards - I walked down into the local shops the other day to get her weighed and it was excruciatingly painful even at our snail's pace... this dose of SPD is much much worse than last time, and I had it bad last time - this time is insane.
Can't get family in to help either - MIL is a judgemental steam roller and will just hammer my confidence with what she CAN'T do and what I do wrong, my mother's on a cruise (as usual lol) and is still sulking cos I stood up for myself over stuff at Christmas!
Oh well - gritted teeth and clenched pelvis time to get her out of the downstairs cot (not an ideal situation when she sleeps better upstairs - but the only way I can cope with daytime naps at all).Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Aww Dizzie i sympathise with the SPD. I had it bad from around 21 weeks pregnant and things only reazlly improved once my parents arranged for me to see an osteopath. I appreciate not everyone has the sort of money they charge, but if you can find it somehow it really is a sanity saver! You normally only need 3 sessions max with an osteo, but really I could have got away with just 2. The NHS physio was a complete waste of time.
Still on the case trying to sort a lactation consultant here, first lady i tried has the flu, second lady no answer when I rang so currently waiting on a third to reply to an email. Really need to sort something soon, as my LO also has bad wind which I'm convinced is being caused by her very poor latch"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change" - Wayne Dyer

Well ladies, I think I kno why Reuben was up and screaming from 3:30am-6am today...not hunger but....his first tooth!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
-
Meant to say as well I've found giving him a sip of water from a sippy cup (he goes batty at the sight of a bottle but bottle could work a less stroppy baby) really helps with resettling without a feed. Means picking him up but its worked for us so far.
We use water to help settle LO before naps as well as during the night - same bottle as those used for milk, but she doesn't seem to mind! We don't pick her up, just give her a few sips whilst she's lying on her back and (touch wood) she's never choked. She loves her water0 -
Yay for Reuben's tooth, Noah pulling himself up and George crawling! :j0

Katie and Fluff, do you make your own hummous or have you found a shop-bought low/no salt one? I'd like to give my LO some, but haven't yet got around to making any...
Fluff, love the pic0
