My pharmacist friend explained that infacol helps bring all the little bubbles of wind together to help the baby pass the wind, where as Colief (although it's faffy to prepare in the milk) actually breaks down the wind, so it's more technologically advanced.

Colief was too much faff though so we stuck with Infacol :)

Yeah it does, but what it can do is bring them together and make them too big for baby to pass, they won't go up so they're forced down and it makes there little tummy spasm which I think is what happened when we used it. We used colief too, which was far superior but like you say a faff.

Dentinox drops are supposed to be really good so may be a compromise? They go into the bottle direct so no having to give before the feed x

I think I've got two red books spare in the home birth pack our midwife left. Maybe I should put them on ebay if there's a shortage ;) Keep meaning to give the pack back when we go to the doctors surgery, but have forgotten so far!

I still have the little record book my prents filled in when I was born. I was looking at it at the weekend. There's a pretty impressive list of words I could say before I was 1 in there... tractor being one of them! You can guess I was from a farming family ;) Elliot just thinks everything is called 'Da' at the moment. Apart from any drink that's in our cups, which is called 'T'.

Just booked his 1st birthday party, just for us and my Dad, at a pizza restaurant. It's Elliot's favourite food (apart from grapes) so that should be good. I can't believe it's going so quickly!

I tried Detinox but the LO hated the taste! I must say it was a bit foul :rotfl:

HV came. Dewi has gained 11oz since we came home, that's 3 days ago.

She also told me he can sleep as long as he likes so long as he's gaining.

    :) yes it is Gilly!

Can someone interpret a baby sign for me? Towards what I'd say is the end of a feed, Dewi gets a bit frantic, shakes his head and sucks like mad. He won't stay on though...

With wind, I find it works best when I sit Oscar on my knee, bounce him gently ten or so times (to get the air bubbles to join up), lean him to the left (cause apparently babies wind pipes lean to the left) and then sit him forward and straighten him up. Seems to do the trick!

For you ladies with LO's nearing a year, can you tell me what your LO's eat please?

My LO's was weaned off his night feed, but had the vomiting bug about 2 weeks ago so I feed him in the night as he was barely eating anything in the day. Now's he's fine again (and has been for more than a week), and he's eating everything in the day, but still waking up for an extra milk feed during the night. I want to take it away again, but want to make sure he's eating enough. The HV suggested giving him more food near bed time, but I can't see how to fit in more food! :rotfl:

    7am - wakes up
    7am - 210ml milk
8.30am* - breakfast - banana & either a yogurt or an ella's kitchen fruit baby rice pouch, or porridge
11.30* - lunch - veg curry & rice or tomato pasta etc etc etc. Pudding - fruit cup (cow & gate/organix etc - about 100g)
    1.30pm - 210ml milk
3.30pm* - snack - potato wedges or crackers and cheese or a scone etc
    5.30pm - dinner - ella's kitchen pouch or similar & a pureed fruit cup
    7pm - 210ml milk
    7.30pm - Bed

    * These are the nursery food times, so can't move these timings. I try to stick to them every day for consistency.

He has home made food, as well as prepared stuff, but this gives you an idea of the portion size. His main food is about 125-150g plus a pudding at lunch and dinner of approx 100g.

He always goes to bed at 7.30pm so can't push back the last feed/milk.

    What do you think?
