For you ladies with LO's nearing a year, can you tell me what your LO's eat please?
My LO's was weaned off his night feed, but had the vomiting bug about 2 weeks ago so I feed him in the night as he was barely eating anything in the day. Now's he's fine again (and has been for more than a week), and he's eating everything in the day, but still waking up for an extra milk feed during the night. I want to take it away again, but want to make sure he's eating enough. The HV suggested giving him more food near bed time, but I can't see how to fit in more food! :rotfl:
7am - wakes up
7am - 210ml milk
8.30am* - breakfast - banana & either a yogurt or an ella's kitchen fruit baby rice pouch, or porridge
11.30* - lunch - veg curry & rice or tomato pasta etc etc etc. Pudding - fruit cup (cow & gate/organix etc - about 100g)
1.30pm - 210ml milk
3.30pm* - snack - potato wedges or crackers and cheese or a scone etc
5.30pm - dinner - ella's kitchen pouch or similar & a pureed fruit cup
7pm - 210ml milk
7.30pm - Bed
* These are the nursery food times, so can't move these timings. I try to stick to them every day for consistency.
He has home made food, as well as prepared stuff, but this gives you an idea of the portion size. His main food is about 125-150g plus a pudding at lunch and dinner of approx 100g.
He always goes to bed at 7.30pm so can't push back the last feed/milk.
What do you think?

So cute, sunshine. I can't imagine Freddie ever eating that much (although of course he will). I've just this week started weaning and so far he's had yogurt (smeared around face), baby rice (smeared around face and hands) and hummus (smeared around face, hair and, of all places, inside his own ear)"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Long time lurker of this and the pregnancy thread - was going to join after the 20 week scan, but got put off with a spate of things going wrong for some of the regulars on there at the time, and I didn't want to temp fate, lol. My little lady is 3 weeks old today - born at home via a planned homebirth with no pain relief (eek!) 37+5 weeks, 8lbs 4oz. I have two other DC's from a previous relationship, DS1 is 14 and DS2 is a month shy of 12, so in many ways it seems like I'm starting all over again, and this is DP's first (and only!) child. Already gained much useful information from you all - thanks Miss Keith for the tip on winding, it really works! We are struggling with this issue like so many others, I am breastfeeding properly for the first time, LO has a shallow latch and takes in lots of air. We've been checked for TT by 3 different people, but they all say she's fine, but I'm still not convinced as all the signs are there, including my very sore nipples still! I am hoping to go to the local childrens centre on Thurs to the breastfeeding support group, as I'm feeling a bit like I've just been left to get on with it by the NHS. Congrats to all the new mummies, and hello to everyone else

Freddie's tongue tie was missed by three people (two midwives and a paediatrician). But he had one which affected feeding which luckily was sorted on day five by a lactation consultant that I employed privately. Reading up a bit, dizziblonde's little girl also had an undiagnosed tongue tie which contributed to her having to give up breastfeeding. Aventurine. I can definitely recommend the above. I too have a 3 week old and called my local consultant today after just getting 'persevere' comments from various NHS professionals and being in agony at every feed and things getting worse not better.
Unfortunately she was ill so couldn't visit but arranged a telephone consultation with another lady. Well she was fab and after 30 minutes on the phone, 3 feeds later they have been almost pain free:T and I feel so much more positive.
Well done on the HB by the way, I got to 8cm before I got stuck and had to go to hospital
Let us know how you get on0 -
Dewi hasn't stopped feeding and it's driving me nuts!
Help... please0 -
It's normal hun
make sure you have lots of water/juice to keep yourself topped up, and snacks etc, get your feet up and watch the tv. It will pass. He's increasing your supply for his demand. Hugs xx

Don't think we've had more than half hour since 11.30 this morning >< I wouldn't mind if he was doing the odd half hour feed... but it's 5 min and then falling asleep and waking and feeding.0
