Try aptamil comfort and a bit warmer than room temperature.

Be warned you'll need slightly faster or variable flow teats though!

Also make sure you're relaxed, babies know when you're stressed.

What we used to do with bob was pop her in the bath coming up to feeding time, get her dried and dressed then feed her. She'd generally then feed well and drop off for a sleep :)

Eta the wind problems we had more or less disappeared when we used the comfort milk

Comfort is better than hungry baby. hungry baby can cause constipation/wind issues. Baths are great for windy/colic-y/reflux babies. i remember filling the bath at 3am many a night to get some relief from the screaming  :o

On other news.my baby can walk!!!! :D

Oh thanks! If this continues for another day, I'll give the Comfort milk a go! Yes, bath relaxes my LO as well, I guess than when she's in that mood, I never think of a bath! Thanks!

I was in the middle of my nap when a couple pressed the buzzer of my flat to leave some Jehovah 's witnesses leaflets and woke both baby and me. Grrrr... 45min sleep :( I'm tempted to put a sign by my buzzer saying 'newborn sleeping!!!", as I live on the ground floor people tend to call my flat to open the door because the buzzer is the first on the panel and at eye level. :(

    Yay gilly :D x x x

My friend has a sign on her door that says 'i don't buy anything, I don't want your Jesus and no i have no gold' or something to that effect! No one bothers her though :rotfl:

Yes i'd make a sign. Being me I'd probably put 'please dont wake the dragon' on it :o

Hi DDB :) glad to hear you are now enjoying breastfeeding. My Dewi came on Christmas day. Currently still in hospital but will explain all when we're home and I can get on the pc.

I wanted to ask about birth weights, head size and tears? Dewi was 7lb8, 35cm and I have 3rd degree labial tears. My lord it burns to pee! I never thought a baby that size wpuld damage me so badly.

Hi sammie, glad you're doing ok :). He goes nuts when he actually hits the xylophone, then gets so excited he keeps bashing his ankles in stead :o

Welcome to all the new names! In the middle of a big tidy up while the monster naps so not read back properly for a while. Looks like bfing is picking up for you though Bamama? Hope so. George was 7lb11 and I had 2nd tearing. I think its as much due to the position as the size, although I needed the ventouse which might have had an affect.

    Yay for walking gilly!

Erin was under 5lb (4lb 15 I think) and STILL managed to shred me with a nice 3rd degree (worst level of 3rd degree - I think she was shooting for a 4th) tear! They'd scanned me when I went in to check she was head down but as she wasn't at all engaged at that point - she decided to do a pirouette and make herself back to back and then get slightly stuck for maximum arkwardness!

Hi all, hope it's ok if I join you over here? My little lady Shaylen was born on the 30th November weighing 7lb 5oz - she was 4 days early and having read some of the birth stories we had a very straight forward labour although she wasn't breathing when born which scared the life out of her daddy and I! Dr put it down to shock as I went from 3cm dilated to giving both in 1hr 28mins (took 15 hrs to get to 3cm mind!) And there have been no issues since thankfully.

I'm breastfeeding and only now just starting to enjoy it and relaxing sure has increased my supply as expressing this am I got 6oz off each side after having fed - felt ready to pop before she woke up previously I was only managing to acheive 2oz from both so finally can pop to the shops leaving dad confident he'll have enough milk to satisfy her if she demands!

Oh, she slept for 7hrs 45mins last night straight - I did get up to express and check on her randomly but feel so full of energy today its wonderful especially as she was definetely putting her order in for extra supplies yesterday as she fed all day with 30 mins being her longest break/sleep!

My oh is going to Barbados for 3 weeks next Monday so I will no doubt be on here pestering you a lot, sorry in advance ;)

Congratulations and welcome hun! Sounds like you guys are doing great! x

He's sleepy due to his meds so I understand that he may not take a full feed but it's frustrating to see him fall asleep but know he's still hungry!
Hope the shields help. I have baby falling asleep too so don't feel too discouraged. Try the jiggling to keep awake, tickle ear, tickle under chin, wiggle boob to get nipple to move in mouth, stroke head....
