Happy New Year everyone0

Babs had a feed & change at 2, went down at 3 and slept until 6 !- im claiming that as a victory! I woke up at 4 in a panic at the quiet and freaked that daddy had fell asleep with her in bed, of course she was snoozing in her basket !! Waiting to see if she goes down after this feed now. I tried block feeding and also kept putting her back on even when she looked like she was full & asleep, I'd normally try and put her to bed but I winded her gently and tried her again, she went back 4 times, total feed time 40 mins compared to 10-20. I think previously I've been dap tired I've been happy when she finished quickly so I could try and get some sleep. Done the same this feed and she's still going strong on 45 minutes. Fingers crossed she goes down again. Thanks again for the advice, it's been worth it for 3 precious hours sleep in the night!!!0

That's a great way,to star the,year moneypenny!!!!
great,she's eating more and settling!
The very first thing we did on the New Year was changing her nappy as she decided to poo with a bang! on the last minutes of,2012. Then she cried for an hour, very unlike her. DH said she didn't like 2013. I think she's increasing the, amount of milk she takes, she has just managed 1oz regularly and the last 38h she's attempting 3oz. I think she's hungry but she gulps and get massive wind, which hurts her and makes her stop feeding, so she gets frustrated and hungrier then when she gets the teat again she gulps even quicker, and we start the whole cycle again. She ended up falling sleep out of tiredness after eating over 3oz and scream for more! She has just eaten another 3oz almost in her sleep!! She keeps increasing the feeds every.few days and I can swear she looksdifferent today to a couple of days ago her face is fuller and with more expression and character, I might be hallucinating with sleep deprivation but I honestly believe she has grown up quite a bit in the last 72h.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

We seen to be getting a routine down!
Change nappy, skin to skin feeding for 20 min, fall asleep, get dressed, wake and have a 5/10 min dessert. Then he goes down lovely and settled
I slept well between the last feeds. Midwives/nurses have recommended not expressing just feeding. Get my supply in synch with his feeding. Which I think is best shile we are here as it makes one less stressed mammy!
Happy new year all.0 -
I'd agree that's the best advice. Feeding from the boob directly will get your supply worked out with his demand
brilliant news for you both. Happy new year xx

Hi all, hope it's ok if I join you over here? My little lady Shaylen was born on the 30th November weighing 7lb 5oz - she was 4 days early and having read some of the birth stories we had a very straight forward labour although she wasn't breathing when born which scared the life out of her daddy and I! Dr put it down to shock as I went from 3cm dilated to giving both in 1hr 28mins (took 15 hrs to get to 3cm mind!) And there have been no issues since thankfully.
I'm breastfeeding and only now just starting to enjoy it and relaxing sure has increased my supply as expressing this am I got 6oz off each side after having fed - felt ready to pop before she woke up previously I was only managing to acheive 2oz from both so finally can pop to the shops leaving dad confident he'll have enough milk to satisfy her if she demands!
Oh, she slept for 7hrs 45mins last night straight - I did get up to express and check on her randomly but feel so full of energy today its wonderful especially as she was definetely putting her order in for extra supplies yesterday as she fed all day with 30 mins being her longest break/sleep!
My oh is going to Barbados for 3 weeks next Monday so I will no doubt be on here pestering you a lot, sorry in advance0 -

I think my LO is definitely going through a growth spurt. She's demanding food every hour and a half to two hours and she's having 3oz every time, although it takes her 45min or so because she gulps it and ends up having a lot of wind, which ends up in constant crying! We've been awake since 6am, and now daddy is taking over on his own to see if I can have a nap, but I can hear her screaming from here!!!
Idk what to do! we feed her, but the wind is so bad that she ends up crying whilst.feeding, and if we stop to wind her, she cries because she.wants more feeding, then when we.put back the bottle, she gulps because she was waiting whilst winding... which means she creates more wind! It's a vicious circle and one that lasts for hours!!! Is there anything that can be done? Any tips? Would warm milk be better than room temperature or it does not matter ? DH says we could try Aptamil hungry babies, but she's only 19 days old! Idk what to do seeing her scream to no end is very unnerving and I feel so sorry for her!!
