Morning elelyn, sorry you've got an early start! We've been up since 6.20 and were up 3 times before that too :(. Glad Theo's feeling better though. G is currently chewing on a board book but he's eyeing up my iPad too, he's not getting his sticky little fingers on here!

Off to put the kettle on. Hmm, too early to try the tea and fake baileys?*

Gosh Katie, having to get up 3 times a night must be hard going. I guess I am lucky not to have to do that. I wish I slept better during the night. Even if Theo is snoozing away I find myself listening to his little noises and unable to settle myself.

On a positive note for the past couple of days he's being reaching for the toys on his baby gym and he's started to grab at them now. It's sooo cute - I just love watching the concentration on his little face!
  • Aaw its lovely when they start interacting with things a bit more isn't it?

3 times is hard but just been reading the news about that awful school shooting in America. :(. Puts things in perspective a bit - compared to what those parents are going through this morning I can deal with being a bit tired.

  • katie its never the wrong time for ballycastle tea ;)

How was it in hot chocolate? I ended up just having some as is last night.

I couldn't be doing with the early starts you ladies are having, at least Reuben will lie in of a morning...in fact til about hakf ten if I let him! Maybe that's the trouble...i need to start getting him up earlier so he is tired earlier? Might start that on Monday.

Oh and he seems much better and has obviously got over whatever was making him sick the other day.

Got him the Clevamama pillow for his flat head and it seems lovely and comfy. Trouble is, when I went in this morning he'd managed to wriggle right off it and was all scrunched up at the bottom of his cot!

Yeah we get that one quite regularly (because sleeping wedged sideways in your cot is obviously soooo much more comfortable) - I figure at least she's spending a bit of the night with less pressure on her head... some nights she stays put completely, other nights she tries to do a full 180 degree turn in her cot over the evening!

I had a lie in until 7 this morning - we're usually up at 5.30/6! :D But then we did have a prolonged 'I don't want to sleep' episode between 2 and 3.30... It may well be that getting him to bed earlier would help - no baby is going to sleep for much longer than 12 hours at night; my LO goes to bed at 6.30pm-ish (bath at 6, then bottle) so I can't really expect her to sleep past 6am... Maybe you could try bringing bedtime forward gradually? Or, dare I say, wake him up a bit earlier in the morning for a few days so that he'll hopefully get tired earlier in the evening?... Worth a try maybe, although babies do seem quite keen to do things their way :o

All babies are completely different, for some babes no matter how late or early they go to bed there wake up time will be the same. I know with A no matter what time he goes to bed his wake up time is 8.30/9 (I know we're very lucky) I find he's tired by around 7pm, and I find if he is over tired at all he has a worst night sleep. Those with bad night patterns, how is babies naps? I'm a big believer in sleep breeding sleep, and once we got our daytime sorted, night was a lot easier too. xx

Well, Reuben was rubbing his eyes and head butting my chest from 6:30 today so he went to bed at 6:45!! I fed him upstairs, for 20 mins, then put him in the cot.....he *seems* fully asleep so we shall see. I'm celebrating by doing absolutely nothing....laying on the settee messing with the iPad....bliss.l.. :rotfl:

Evening ladies, quiet on here today!

I've been busy all day, got friends over for a Xmas dinner - I'm so full I think I might burst. And we've still got pudding and cheese to go! Plus I've had (bad mummy) almost 2 glasses of cava and being the lightweight that I am I'm quite tipsy already! Looking forward to a cup of tea when monkey is tucked up. I'm so rock and roll! Going to watch the Ultimate Christmas film too - Die Hard :rotfl:

Have a good evening all :)

Oh and I did that lentil recipe that katiechoc mentioned......came out a little dry, will use a little more moisture next time, but was a hit with both me and Reuben! And he ate a whole fromage frais. He's been really off his food this week (teething), so today he's eaten loads (porridge fingers for breakfast). Still asleep 45 mins after he first dozed off.....I can't remember the last time he hadn't woken up by now when going to bed......wow!!!!!!! :j
