Thought I'd poke my head in. I gave birth to Oscar at 08.17am 12/12/12
The labour was super, super fast (stomach cramps at 02am, waters broke at 07.30am, got to hospital at 08am and he was born at 08.17am) so we're both quite shell shocked hah.

We're still struggling with feeding but I think we might have cracked it, he seems to be constantly hungry. He's a very sleepy baby and keeps falling asleep mid feed. Does anyone have any advice? He's currently on the bed with daddy doing what sounds like a very messy poop!

My little girl was prem and had jaundice so doubly-sleepy baby. We were told to change her nappy before her feed to wake her up, or indeed sometimes in the NICU they resort to changing them midway through a feed - on several occasions we ended up with a game of strip-bottle where we'd gradually be removing items of clothing as the feed went on to keep her awake... now she's a bottomless pit of food so the sleepy feeds don't tend to last long!
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!

    Hey Ladies,

Been missing again, Poppy has had another hospital admission. She managed to contract bronchiolitis and then whilst in the hospital she picked up norovirus so we've been in hospital again for 10 days. Thankfully it was only our local children's ward and not Alder Hey so not much travelling time! She's out now and recovering well at home, she has lost even more weight and is now 12lb 4oz as she hasn't been eating well at all, had to go back to size 2 nappies and dig her first size clothes out again :(:(

Really hoping she has no more illness now and we can enjoy a quiet Christmas at home.

Welcome to the new ladies and babies, going to read back now and catch up. xxx

Poor Ellie, seems so unfair that our poor little babes get so poorly. Hoping she recovers in time for her 1st Birthday (and her first Christmas!)

I actually cried when the Doc said she was to be admitted, her oxygen sat was down to 79% thought and she had to go back on CPAP for a couple of days to give her lungs a rest. Plus she wouldn't feed at all, not from the breast or a bottle so it was back to tube feeding again, feel like I could be a Nurse with all my experience!!

Off to see the Dietitian tomorrow for advice on feeding her and getting her weight back up.

Keep us updated on Ellie. xx

Oh Jannine it never stops for you and poor Poppy does it? Big hugs, hope she continues to get better at home and you can all enjoy your Christmas together. Keep us updated on her progress, will be thinking of you.

Turtle I tried a slosh of fake baileys in a cup of tea earlier, was yummy! Think I'll probably skip the sugar next time though, had to brush my teeth as soon as I'd finished :o. Wonder what else it would be nice in...
