Just got back from baby group Christmas party - she zonked out in the car on the way home, hasn't woken as I took her hat and gloves and coat off, and is still zonked out now... odds of me getting the kettle on, lowering backside to chair and instant wake up?! Saw Santa, got a present from him, gummed on some finger food and then decided she'd had enough and wanted a nap - mum has now decided she's had enough of the silly slippery party frock and as soon as she wakes up she's going back in jeans and a fluffy snuggly jumper!

...about one bath a week. I tell myself it's because of his dry skin but really it's because I'm incredibly lazy :o:D

    Afternoon all.

Turtle you're doing blw and only bath every few days????? G needs a bath after pretty much every meal!

We had another crap night, fed him at 11 and 1 then was up from 2.30 til gone 4 with him, letting him cry for a minute or two then comforting him etc etc. in the end I gave in and fed him as I didn't know what else to do :(. And he woke again at 6 when I had just got back to sleep so I put him in my bed til 8. At which point Oh called from the bottom of the road tosay his bus wasn't there so could he have a lift to work. So I jumped up and out and did some Xmas shopping in town. Got home at dinner time, house is a tip, tons of stuff to do and I'm just knackered. Don't know what to do with his sleeping, everyone's saying I should give him formula and/or some pur!e food, but he won't take formula and won't even look at the stage 2 purees. And I know his eating will improve which will probably help his sleeping but I'm just worn out with it all :(

    Sorry to moan :(

Katie, in calorific values, milk will always leave them fuller and give more nutrients than purees ever can. Food before one is just for fun is the motto. Sleep did not improve for us with weaning, it was something he had to learn. It is hard though when everyone thinks they have the magic cure. When A had bad reflux, people used to come out with what I suppose to them seemed like helpful suggestions and I used to drive me potty.

It's up to you what you do, if you want to give formula/give puree's (I'd recommend Plum and Ellas Stage 2, much smoother than any of the jars) do it :) at least you can say you've tried. It isn't easy at all :( Hugs xxx

Katie, sorry you're having such a hard time at night with G. I really should stop complaining about being tired as I have it easy compared with some of you!

Theo was up early as predicted - 5.15am. I gave him his bottle and then managed to get him to go back off to sleep at 6. Before 6 is just tooo early to be up for the day! He only did another half hour or so though and then he was awake again so I gave in and got him up.

We had baby group today. It was fancy dress for Christmas and Father Christmas turned up so I got my photo of Theo with him! I am such a bad mommy though. He had gone off to sleep at that point but I pulled his dummy out which woke him up and I plonked him on Father Christmas' lap just so I could get my picture. Cruel mommy!

He's asleep now and has been on and off for the last three hours! He hasn't slept this long in one go in the day for ages. He must need it I suppose, and perhaps we'll have a slightly later bedtime today and therefore a later start tomorrow. Here's hoping.

Thanks Elelyn. No she won't take a dummy. She used to and it was so much easier getting her to sleep but she now refuses. Guess I will just have to persevere. Hubby is off for 2 weeks from next Friday so from then we are transferring from Moses to cot and will try to do naps in that too. At the mo when she falls asleep for naps she's either on us or on cushions.

Bellola, meant to ask, how did you get on with any intolerance testing/appointments? x

He only gets round his mouth and his hands dirty, which I just use a baby wipe for. The rest is only on his bib and his clothes. I do a LOT more laundry now he's eating solids! Although he has boycotted them the last couple of days, grumpy sausage doesn't want his favourite toys, favourite food, etc etc he wants nothing but boob and sophie!

Thanks ladies. Had a cup of tea and feeling a bit better. I think I'm going to get some purees for the time being, will try those you recommended gilly. I remember when the mw came for his 5 day check and I smugly told her he was only waking once a night for a feed. Serves me right!

Seems like I'm spending half my time wishing he'd stay this age for a bit longer as he's so flipping cute and the other half wishing he was a bit older so he'd eat and sleep better :o

Turtle I find the sleeves are the worst, we've got some of the long sleeved bibs but he still gets it everywhere. I found lentils in his ear at bath time last night.

It will get better Katie, I would say A is only now getting to an age where the good times completely out number the bad :o We're always here for a chat or rant or even any questions.

I used to get and still use them from time to time if I'm out the Ellas Kitchen Sachet and the little Plum pots (the pots are much better than the sachets of the same make, or so Aaron thinks) Good Luck :o
