    Morning everyone,

My little boy is nearly 1. Last week or so been suffering quite bad from dry skin.

He does have a bath every night.

Would you just go to 1-2 a week and hopefully let it clear up, or would it be something i need to see the GP with?

He has special formula (and takes few other medicines) so not your average baby.

any advice would be very helpful. :o

Hey hun. Charlie has suddenly started getting really dry skin. So we've cutout all bubble bath etc. We've been putting either E45 Junior Foaming Bath Milk or Oilatum in his bath. Then afterwards either putting Oilatum or E45 cream on him. It's really helped. Plus the nursery is applying E45 once during the day x

    Hello lovely ladies!!!!

I still feed Charlie, only give him the spoon to play with. Bad mummy!! Might try him in the kitchen where the mess can be cleaned lol x

Hello! Hope you've had a good Charlie and mummy day today :)

Our dining room floor has never been so clean - it gets mopped after almost every meal now :o I tried putting down a shower curtain, but actually found it more of a faff than just cleaning the floor...

    Afternoon all.

Turtle you're doing blw and only bath every few days????? G needs a bath after pretty much every meal!

We had another crap night, fed him at 11 and 1 then was up from 2.30 til gone 4 with him, letting him cry for a minute or two then comforting him etc etc. in the end I gave in and fed him as I didn't know what else to do :(. And he woke again at 6 when I had just got back to sleep so I put him in my bed til 8. At which point Oh called from the bottom of the road tosay his bus wasn't there so could he have a lift to work. So I jumped up and out and did some Xmas shopping in town. Got home at dinner time, house is a tip, tons of stuff to do and I'm just knackered. Don't know what to do with his sleeping, everyone's saying I should give him formula and/or some pur!e food, but he won't take formula and won't even look at the stage 2 purees. And I know his eating will improve which will probably help his sleeping but I'm just worn out with it all :(

    Sorry to moan :(

Shame hun, hugs. I agree with Gilly. If he's not taking the food, give him milk. And food wise, Ella's Kitchen and Plum are great. Charlie loves the Plum stuff. And i find Sainsbury's seems to have a bigger selection of both than the other supermarkets. Will he have yoghurts?

Hi! I did thanks hun. Hope you well?
Oh yes, Kitchen floor can just be mopped. The lounge (rented house) has light beige carpets, so a big no no for him self feeding there lol. I can always move him through to the lounge when he does the finger food at the end, coz he'll usually munch toast or something whilst watching tv. And i get free time lol x

I used formula on things like porridge until 6 months (had a carton of old stage 1 we'd swapped away from that I used for that stuff)... then just started using blue top milk with everything after that - she's an utter yoghurt and cheese monster so no dairy issues.

Woo - finally some of the cosatto double umbrella strollers on gumtree for a decent price - been watching for weeks for one to come up but the only ones that have have been the "bro and sis" ones which obviously don't work for us - want an umbrella fold for in the car, and they seem to be decent ones suitable from newborn so going to see one tomorrow.

  • Hi Ladies!

Nutella, I didnt find a dress :( going to have a look on Friday around the town.

On the subject of wake ups, Aiden was awake last night from 2:30 till just gone 4  not fun when I had to be up for work at 6 :( Wasnt sure why he was awake and we gave in and gave him his bottle which seemed to work. I think the issue is that nursery give him his tea at 4:30 and when he is with us he has tea about 5:30-6, so I think he may be a bit hungry. Gave him some teacake and fruit tonight before his bath so will see if that works.

Mozzy, Hi!! Aiden doesn't feed himself either lol:oI occasionally let him but its sooo messy! Im sure we will get there.

We had a second viewing tonight. The lady came on her own on Monday, and bought her partner and dad tonight. She said she loves the house...so fingers crossed!

    xx

Hi Sunshine! :) Hope Aiden sleeps better tonight - hopefully a bit of extra food before bedtime will do the trick. I've already been upstairs four times since LO went to bed - she keeps turning over onto her tummy in her sleep and dropping the dummy in the process, then crying because it's gone! I think her cold is bothering her :(

That's exciting re. second viewing - hope they end up buying it! :j Have you found somewhere you want to move to (sorry if you've already said - baby brain strikes...)?

Ahh your poor LO. Touch wood, Aidens cough is shifting now with the new meds. Hope she settles off for you. Aiden has just woke for his dummy too.

We havent even viewed anything yet lol! We cant agree on where we want ... we really need to sit down and search through rightmove. OH has gone to bed with man flu so cant look tonight!

Any tips for getting a baby to lie still(ish)on their back for a couple of minutes so you can get a nappy changed? Every nappy change is a battle at the moment - she just won't lie still, and is off exploring on her tummy within approx. two seconds of being put on the changing mat. I've tried displaying pictures in the ceiling, giving her toys to hold/play with, singing in a weird voice, making strange sounds that make her laugh and, uhm, holding her, but to no avail. The world beyond the changing mat is clearly much more exciting than anything mummy can come up with! When OH is at home, we do nappy changes together so that one person can distract her whilst the other does the nappy - this works to an extent, but is obviously not an option most of the time when I'm with her by myself...

We have the same issue here. He hates nappy time, and getting dressed, he cries sometimes. He just wants to go! I asked at nursery if he does it there and they said no!

Apparently they have all dangly things hanging off the ceiling and mobiles above the mats.

A colleague at work has to change her 1 year old standing up!
