Apparently they have all dangly things hanging off the ceiling and mobiles above the mats.
A colleague at work has to change her 1 year old standing up!

I took her to get weighed yesterday - she turned over and tried to grab the face of the poor little boy on the changing mat next to her! His mum looked horrified! I was thinking 'you just wait a few months, and he'll be the same...'
Speaking of weighing, I was very pleased to discover that the recommended frequency for 6-12 months is every 2 months. I don't have to go back until February! :j
I'm now capable of putting on her nappy and clothes (bar sleepsuit - haven't mastered that yet) whilst she's lying on her tummy, but it's not really a helpful position when you're trying to clean up a load of poo...Thankfully she doesn't cry or anything, but I get tired of having to struggle every time!

George thinks its hilarious to roll around during nappy or clothes changes, he'll half roll over, sneak a sideways glance at me and when I roll him back giggles like a maniac. It makes everything take twice as long but it's so cute I don't mind
Fingers crossed they put an offer in sunshine!
I've just fed and changed G, decided to wake him up - once before he got himself into a bad routine of waking before midnight and me waking him when I went to bed seemed to break the cycle. Not getting my hopes up too much but at the least might push the first wake up back an hour or so.
Night ladies, peaceful night to all hopefully! XNewborn thread member

I had some success with just getting him settled before I started. Every time he tried to crawl him off I'd put him back and say you have to stay. If I was lucky he'd get the point and stay till I finished. Best to get the battle of wills out of the way before you're wading through poo.0

Hi Gilly,
S is 13 weeks now and has been on Aptamil Pepti 1 since 7 weeks I think. GP advised to give that a go and if there wasn't an improvement then we would have a referral and testing. But everything starting changing quite quickly. Her skin (which had previously been covered in spots) cleared up within a few days, her poo's changed, had much better weight gain (15oz in 2 weeks as opposed to 8oz in 2 weeks), her bloated tummy went down and breathing got better. So that side of things is great now. I do think she has silent reflux as well though as shes constantly sicking up/spitting up so trying to find a solution to that one now.
Her breathing also got bad again after her jabs so ended up at the hospital anyway where she was diagnosed with a Strider (floppy larynx) which is what I had as a baby and had kept suggesting she might have too but was brushed aside. It's getting better now as will strengthen on its own but is worse when she gets upset or excited. Previously she would make an awful noise at night and keep us up and now we can all sleep!
I now have to conquer the silent reflux, daytime naps and her messing around during her morning bottle so taking forever to get it down her!0 -
Brilliant news. What I would say is, reflux a good chunk of the time is a side affect of an intolerance, so if it's still there I'd challenge it, even if everything else has cleared up. A had what I thought was silent reflux as he had no other symptoms of an intolerance at all. The minute he was on the correct milk it completely disappeared. If she is sick and spitting up it doesn't sound like silent reflux to me just reflux. If she's gaining though I know they probably won't take you seriously. She should be properly medicated for it though, thickener in bottles/ranitidine or whatever they'l give you, definitely go back and keep going back

OK someone give me the verdict on weetabix... we've been using the cow and gate version for breakfast but Tesco seems to have stopped stocking them now - are the normal ones OK or not? Half the stuff on the internet seems to date from like 2000 or so and can't get an up to date verdict on them. Otherwise it'll be sending hubby to Boots on his way home to try to buy 'em there.
And enjoying the last few hours before MIL gets here... grrr was going to go see the Coca Cola truck tomorrow as wellLittle miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
The C&G ones give me the baulk, A wouldn't even touch them. He has normal weetabix all the time. Everything in moderation I say

Hello!!
Hi Sunshine - hope you had a better night hun!! Charlie has tea at 3:30pm, so we give him something as soon as he gets home, then bottle before bed.
Nappy changing - oh my god i dread these. Its a battle. He constantly tries to flip over and starts kicking. Nightmare!!!!
I can recommend Cow and Gate My First Muesli - Charlie loves it. I do it with a little warm milk. Goes down a treat here. I've tried it too, not bad lol xDFD February 2012

Aaah the nappy changing - one of the few times I relish having a child that's still not figured out rolling off her back and can stay where I put her! I usually give her the new nappy to wrestle with while I get her stripped and cleaned - that slows her down somewhat, or I'm really evil and don't fully remove her trousers and use them as a pair of convenient ankle-shackles while I thread the clean nappy through between her legs (obviously only recommended when it's a wet not pooey one)... soooo nasty a mother I am! I also have the changing table pushed against two walls in a corner so that's two sides of wriggle manouver room blocked out anyway!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
