Morning Sunshine (and everyone else!) :) Yay for sleeping! Is his cough getting any better?

My LO did pretty well - she slept until 5.30, which meant she'd had 12 hours, so I can't complain. She was awake for a while in the middle of the night though - think she was struggling to get comfortable as she has a nasty cough (yep, another one with a cough now...). She's now on her first nap of the day.

We were supposed to go swimming today, but we won't be due to her cough :( Instead we'll be doing the food shopping... I also need to pick up a parcel and get some more containers for LO's food.
  • Not too bad then Nutella! Hope her cough passes.

His cough is starting to improve and the rash has gone from the old antibiotics.

We had to cancel.swimming too :( off to town I think. Its not icy here today! Yay! I hate defrosting my car.

Morning ladies. I'm jealous of your sleep! I fed George at 10.30, 1, 3 and 5.30, and brought him into my bed at 6.30 for half an hour :(. Shattered.

Sorry to hear of the coughs, hope they pass soon. Boo to cancelling swimming too. This morning we're going to the toy library play group then either swimming or shopping this afternoon. We need to get the next stage car seat too so want to get to halfords really, he's suddenly looking massive in his baby seat! When it says suitable from 9 months as well as 9kg can you just go with which comes first? As in, he's only 7 months but he's almost 9kg so is it safe to put him in the bigger seat? I'm easily confused at the best of times and on a cr!p nights sleep I've got no chance :o

    Morning all

Katiechoc - if you are going to halfords to buy a car seat they are doing offers online which you can't get in store. We went and found the one we wanted, it was £279.99 in the shop. Online it is £199.99 and they are offer extra money off when you spend over a certain amount. We got another £20. We managed to get the car seat for £179.99 instead of £279.99! I ordered itoff my phone in store, waited for an email then picked it up straight away.

It's like a click and collect so you can reserve the item and collect it straight away.
    Hope that makes sense!!

The weight is the main thing for forward facing Katie, age doesn't matter a hoot, for safety reasons weight is key. Our car seat rear faces until 28lbs, we couldn't justify paying out £300 for a 4 year rear facing but thought this was a good option :o

How is it possible for three small rice cakes to make such a mess? Sticky stuff like mango I can understand, but rice cakes?... Soggy bits everywhere. I clearly have a lot to learn about finger foods! :)

Nutella....wait til you see what broccoli does. Little green bogey looking things everywhere!

I was in town doing a bit of Xmas shopping yesterday, and Reuben and I waited for OH off the bus home from work. We popped and had a wetherspoons dinner (it was curry night)...while OH was in the loo I had Reuben standing on my lap facing me, when suddenly he bopped me on the nose really hard and made it bleed!! Not just a little bit, a proper full on nose bleed!! I was sitting there trying to hang on to Reuben with a tissue covering my face, waiting for OH to come back from the loo so I could sort myself out! Little bully!

We are struggling re car seat. Reuben is only 7.5 ish kilos, however he only has about half a cm left above his head in the car seat. His legs have been hanging over the edge for ages. He looks so uncomfortable in it, and cries when I strap him in.

I don't know how we are going to cope until he is heavy enough for the next size, as in a few weeks or maybe less, his head will be over the top of the current one, and then thats not safe as he's not cushioned/protected.

    Any ideas?

We had the same problem turtle moose, we ended up getting a stage 0/1 it lasts the same amount of time as a stage 1, up to 4 years but it can be in reverse facing until they are heavy enough. A's head was over the top of his carrier but no where near heavy enough for forward facing. He's lost a bit of with recently again wit being slightly more mobile so I'm glad we got that one.

Rear facing is safer so it's a bonus too :) xx
