Well, then you have failed to grasp an understanding of how the human race has come to exist.

Monogamy is an artificial construct of religion. However, decent human being's (regardless of race/religion) will adhere to it. He hasn't broken that rule. Essentially, you are considering breaking up because he expressed 'phwooaaar' in a private conversation with another bloke.

    Get over it.

No, when you're in a meaningful relationship, no one else compares to your partner, you're happy with what you've got and you have enough self control not to look elsewhere or even think about it.

Or it could be argued that when you're in a meaningful relationship, trivial things such as finding another person attractive are a non-issue as both partners would be comfortable that the other would not stray.

Indeed, in some relationships, partners encourage each other to be open about who they might find attractive; some partners may even partake in roleplaying as part of their relationship.

Relationships are as varied as individuals and there is no set in stone, indisputable checklist of what constitutes a "meaningful" relationship.

Monogamy is not an artificial construct of religion or anything else. It is the best way for societies to function. It shouldn't be difficult to be in a monogamous relationship and that includes thinking about others in this way.

I've only read the first page so I don't know what's been said in between, but you should hear the stuff me and my colleagues (male and female!) go on about, no-one is safe!! Just before Christmas there was an "incident" some firemen were attending to outside our window in work, and me and one of my colleagues were virtually licking the glass watching what was going on!

Yes it's probably wrong, and to the casual observer it may appear shocking, but whatever gets you through your day is my view! And knowing who you can and can't say stuff in front of is always a bonus!!

    Jx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

What if your OH was on a forum with a picture of a girl he fancied as his profile pic and posts of him saying he finds them cute and has imagined and thought about them? Would that not be acceptable?

thats fine, as long as hes not thinking about doing sexual things with them

celebs are different though, someone in RL is a little too close to home IMO to be fantasising about

I'm glad I don't work with you! Would you have done that if you knew one of your colleagues was uncomfortable with that behaviour.

Out of curiosity, why are celebs different?

It really isn't that hard to meet celebrities if one were so inclined. It might be a little harder to meet specific ones but in various parts of the world I've been in the same place as a number of celebrities and spoken to a few.

Torry, that's your opinion and that's fine.

Having worked in male dominated places where 'this' is the standard banter, you have 2 choices. 1) Play along (even if you don't particually agree with or enjoy it) and keep good relations with the people you work with - or - 2) You can stand up and say 'This is derogatory to women, i won't have any part of this, you disgust me' and isolate yourself from the rest of your office/site.

I'm not condoning it, i'm just trying to say that the OP should'nt cry over spilt milk.

Well I certainly wouldn't play along with it or condone it in any way. I would hope that I would have the strength to let my views known.
