Nope, got no intention of changing the first post, why would I want to do that?
I do think the new title is more fitting though0 -

Perhaps you'd like to point out who abused you. I must have missed it.0 -
if they did this then they would end up like Woolworths.
ive turned customers down for asking about price drop differences and have never lost the customer.
a good example is whsmith. instore a book will be £12 but on their site it will be £9 but the stores will not match the online price, Asda do this, Tesco do this and i guess many others do this.
Isn't that because they can't? I thought Tesco Online, Asda Online et al, were all based offshore (Jersey I think Tesco?), hence why they can offer the lower price?A smile costs nothing, but gives a lot.It enriches those who receive it without making poorer those who give it.A smile takes only a moment, but the memory of it can last forever.0 -

I feel obliged to ask starrystarry, why on earth are you on a money saving website criticising people for saving money?
Are you a bit slow and don't understand the purposes of the site?0 -

Asda online is in the UK, they have lower prices because less overheads. also the tax loophole in the channel islands is been closed down early 20120 -

This site is not about wasting an inordinate amount of time/effort for the sake of £2! That's not money saving, it's time wasting.0 -

Not really. Didnt cost me anything and took a 5 minute phone call and about 2 minutes to put the item back into the original envelope it came in.
Already said in a previous post, the PO I have to pass when walking the dog, so add another 1 minute whilst they completed the certificate of postage.0 -

It is only time wasting if the OP values the time it took at over £2.
Some people are cash rich and time poor, for them it would be time wasting.
Others are time rich and cash poor, for them it would be money saving.0 -

But if they come on a public forum to express an opinion they have to be prepared to read other people's opinions.0 -
"Ok, so now say the first weekend you went to BHS and say the item for £20, but then went to Tesco and saw it for £16, would you have purchased it there and then? If so, how is that any diffrent?"
If I had already purchased in BHS I wouldn't buy another in Tesco and then go back to BHS for a refund on the first.
"retailers are not disspaearing because we are chasing down the best offers"
Local pubs disappear because Weathersppons is cheaper, local butchers, bakers and green grocers disappear because the supermarkets are cheaper and the type of product the OP is taking about (media) is one of the best examples because companies shipping from VAT free locations has put many independent businesses under. Even HMV are struggling because after 90 years on the high street people have gone elsewhere for a better price rather than stay loyal to an iconic high street brand.
"they are dissapearing because of the global economy and people's disposable income has rapidly declined"
and so chase a cheaper price.
But that's not my point, point is shoppers with an attitude like the OP cause these price drops who then complain when it happens.
"Just to clear something up, I never demanded or argued - I simply asked. I was then advised they only way to do this was to send the entire item back."
Most people wouldn't have asked, especially not over 2 quid.
"I feel obliged to ask starrystarry, why on earth are you on a money saving website criticising people for saving money?"
There are certain ways to save money, maybe I'm old fashioned but once a deal is done, it's done.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
