    Makes a lot of sense.

I used to work in retail many many years ago, in a shop (GAME infact ;) ) which was part of the shop safe system. Never was the system used for this. It was used to have radio contact with the city police officer and also alert other retailers of shoplifters/people causing trouble in store.

The only time we would use it to alert other stores regarding refunds is if someone tried to return several new items, without a receipt or any proof of purchase. They may have had security tags, stickers from other stores or their story didnt add up.

Next time you go shopping, look at how many people are at the customer services desk after refunds. The radio waves would be chocker block if each and every person was radioed through!

different areas have different ways of running such schemes and after many years you soon can tell which customers returned goods are genuine and which ones are pulling a fast one.

it is now strange you now say you worked for the same company you argued about £2

    I didnt argue, I asked.

Whys it strange I used to work for them? That was well over 10 years ago and not very relevant to me now! GAME was a completly different company then to what it is now.

Good post Rusty, but OP didn't find it cheaper with another retailer, they found it cheaper with the same retailer 1-day later and as such returned the item when they refused to refund the difference in price.

    Thanks for the appreciation.

However the OP didn't say they saw the price reduction the day after ordering, they said it was the day after delivery, which is a totally different ball game.

If they saw it the day after ordering, I would be more on their side, but a few days later, the day after delivery, the contract was complete so I don't think so. It also looks like Game were running a promo on it, it started on the saturday. It looks to me exactly the same as you going into Tesco's and buying a Loaf of bread for £1.50, then the following day seeing it in Tesco's for £1.00 on offer. You wouldn't really go to customer services and demand your 50p back would you ( mind you with some people on this site, anything is possible ). It was a promotional price, run from that particular date.

They were fortunate to be able to return the product free of charge back to Game and get a refund, but don't think Game should have really had to refund the £2.00 if they didn't want to.

It is also strange you haven't answered the question I asked you (twice) earlier.

Want to just admit you were talking rubbish?

Want to just admit you were talking rubbish?

Please do explain how the communication and blacklisting system you referred to earlier works?

simple each shop on the hightreet has a walkie talkie, a customer appears to have several times that want to claim refunds/price differences or shoplift etc. you then using the walkiie talkie system inform other shops of this person ( give description) this way the other store are on the lookout incase this person tried the same in their stores. if this person does then store can bar this person from their stores and the local police can have a court order issued againt this person preventing them from entering the highstreet. in 2010 4 such orders were issued and so far in 2011 on 1 issued, so this must be working
  • Did someone seriously suggest that the OP could be 'blacklisted' by a load of shops for returning an item?

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH.

(I would like to add that I don't agree with the OP's actions however)

You're still talking about the high street. And people committing acts of fraud. Given the OP is neither using the high street nor committing fraud, this is irrelevant.

hope the OP knows that these types of stores communicate amongst each other regarding troublesome customers etc. so you could find yourself a marked man amongst these stores, so make another so called request and you could see yourself banned from these stores.

Can you explain how the OP is going to find themselves a "marked man" banned from multiple stores, after returning an item ONLINE using the DSRs?

Feel free to just admint you have a tenuous grip on reality instead, if it's easier for you.
