OP, thank you for amending the thread title to acknowledge that you have not been abused.0

This site can lead to obsessive behaviour, knowing your rights and how to get a good deal is one thing, but chasing every penny, bagging every grabbit, every freebie, constant signature updates etc is slightly unhealthy and can lead to excessive spending.!!

But you seem genuinely unable to see the matter from someone else's perspective. For you, to have tried to reclaim the £2 may have been a waste of time. For someone else it may not. To make a blanket statement, telling the OP they are timewasting not money saving, is not passing an opinion; it is making a statement of fact that the OP wasted their time when you are not in full posession of the facts.0 -

OK, in my opinion....
OP obviously didn't need the £2 since they were willing to spend it in the first place. He/she was happy with the original price paid. He/she should not have spent any time/effort trying to get the £2 back.
In my opinion.0 -
Congratulations, you're getting there! Now you just need to understand that the OP was motivated by "want" rather than "need".0

Unfortunately it appears he/she was motivated more by "want" than by what was right.0 -
"Ok, so now say the first weekend you went to BHS and say the item for £20, but then went to Tesco and saw it for £16, would you have purchased it there and then? If so, how is that any diffrent?"
If I had already purchased in BHS I wouldn't buy another in Tesco and then go back to BHS for a refund on the first.
Please learn to use the 'quote' button, it makes life so much easier!
That isn't what I asked though. I asked if you saw it in BHS and then saw it elsewhere cheaper would you buy from the other place? If so then you don't care about BHS's bottom line and you are looking out for the best deal, which is the point I am trying to make.A smile costs nothing, but gives a lot.It enriches those who receive it without making poorer those who give it.A smile takes only a moment, but the memory of it can last forever.0 -

Sorry in that case no, I would rather give my money to BHS than Tesco. I very rarely shop on price. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -

So having ascertained the OP may have had reasons for their actions, you now switch to complaining they were not right to do so.
Perhaps you'd be better off on MoneySavingAsLongAsItsALargeSum DoesntTakeTooMuchTime PassesYourMoralCode AndAnythingElseICanFindToComlainAbout .com
The law says the OP was quite entitled to do what they did. They even gave the retailer chance to save a bit by not having to deal with the return, but they turned it down.0 -
