Wasn't OP's point though that it was a silly policy on Game's behalf? I.e. They could have just refunded the £2 and still made a sale, instead they had to stick to a policy that not only got the item returned, but also lost them a customer. As such, IMO, OP has a point.A smile costs nothing, but gives a lot.It enriches those who receive it without making poorer those who give it.A smile takes only a moment, but the memory of it can last forever.0

Game cover the cost of returns with a freepost address no doubt to install confidence in customers that they can easily change their mind with little hassle, similarly Amazon have extended their chance of mind returns period for xmas orders. The system isn't designed for people nit-picking over two quid, it's for those who wish to change their mind because they don't want the goods.
Amazon used to have a 30 day price drop policy where they would refund the difference if the price dropped, they stopped it no doubt because it cost them a fortune. If Game refund the OP then they have to refund everyone who asks and if Amazon couldn't afford it, Game most certainly can't.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
all that will happen is stores like game will do what Amazon has done and that is scrap any price drop policies and then people like the OP will have no one else but themselves to blame when stores refuse to refund any difference when a store actually does some LEGAL like reduce prices.0

Exactly but the OP doesn't care about if Game can't afford it0 -
where presented with a situation whereby a customer wants the difference refunded, I wonder what portion:
accept this, not return the item & still be a customer
return the item & go elsewhere
i'm betting where such a small sum is involved most would be in the first category, and those in the second category are probably less profitable customers they don't really want anyway.
Many companies these days are tightening up & simply cannot afford these kind of policies. The days where the customers always right is long gone IMO -- I don't mean by this that levels of service are dropping, I mean companies can't just throw money at people to keeo them happy!!!0 -
Not sure why you'd continue to look AFTER you've bought what you want. But, if all the time you've spent researching the prices, making phone calls, posting on here and parcelling the thing up and posting it back is worth £2 to you, fair play to you OP.0

guess on pricing
jiffy bag 50p
2nd class lg letter postage 81p
cost travling to PO 50p
so total costs £1.81
so yippee the OP is in profit by 19p0 -
hasn't op already said she has a freepost returns bag?
Even if she doesn't, she'd just repackage, cover the original address with the freepost address on the website0 -
