    I did state broadband not phone line and although he still pays line rental to BT the broadband can be connected to the LLU equipment. This has happened in all cases that I know about and this is when their problems really started.
    Hi,, Cannot take advantage of BT,s 12 month offer, pay up front, because my calls and BB are with AOL....Do you know if TT allows 18185 et.al;;;AOL do, but won,t allow me to ring 1280? to take advantage of Bt,s caller display? Use 18185 to ring Spain a bit;

    interesting...last I'd heard they were still having capacity issues on the line cards so were struggling to achieve this, hence still assuming IPStream connection. I still maintain that a full LLU service would perform better than the hybrid, though....

    Hi Grizzly, thanks, I was dubious about moving my line from BT, but probably will. Essentials will do me, as long as I don,t go from frying pan to fire, if they are throttling;;;got that now;;;:beer:

    Would like to think the throttling is me being paranoid, especially where I live.;)

    Passed Esholt once, a while back, popped in for a luck.

    Drops, disconnections, wildly varying speeds, atrocious customer support. This has also happened to lots of ex Tiscali customers as well when they were switched and TalkTalk attempted to introduce ADSL2+ onto their network.

    I really can't see why you would even consider ringing TalkTalk - you have experienced what they can offer you!

    Not if you leave AOL and switch to a better providers. Your calls are tied to AOL at the moment but they don't have to be. I believe that BT is the only provider that has to allow you to use other telephony providers e.g. 18185.

    A full LLU broadband and calls service makes no difference performance wise - broadband and telephony are separated at the patch panel in the exchange and they then go their separate ways.

    Might add I haven't had any problems with Customer Service at TT, but then I have had no reason to call them.:D
