    Hi, I see Bill(Terry) often, they moved all the filming to Harewood house;;Built a new mock village..My mate,s on film crew, PC,s used to stop visitors walking by when filming.Doesn,t stop coaches coming;;..I did one day, they cut me out:mad: Bet you popped in Harry Ramsdens too, the Original, first one opened? £15 for fish and chips now inside;;;:eek:

    Yeah I had hears about the village at Harewood. Apparently they used a weak yoghurt solution on the stonework to age it ... sadder.

    I have been to Harry Rs, yes, but I don't like it that much if I am honest prefer oil to dripping for the frying.

    Shame what they did to the brand.

    A place I stay up near Aysgarth still has a weekly chip van aah.

    Yeah - I saw that two, didn't catch the reason though - probably doesn't fit the corporate strategy.

    We used to stop in West Burton, which must be bigger than "Emmerdale" and I can't see all those goings on happening there.

  • Joe134 , just a word to the wise if you do go with certain a isp similar to your current one albeit with two T's don't post on their forum more than once (unless in response to one of their employees) use the edit button on your last post otherwise you will get pushed back to the back of the queue with your latest post date-time. It really is not a forum just a ticket machine like you get when queueing at the supermarket meat counter. THis forum is a forum, and well theirs is overwhelmed and you will be underwhelmed by the response times :eek: :beer: :D

    Hi, D, thanks, been thinking hard about what esspresso said ,et.al ;;;;;;bit wary of taking that route now, as he says, I,m already with them now, virtually, and according to exchange, llu, so cannot understand how I can get such a good signal strength, yet low slow/erratic speeds;;there,s 8000 households + 400 buisiness's at the exchange, would imagine, TT has a lot, +bt, so why strangle mine;;;
    If I,m being strangled, how come signal is so high, wouldn,t it drop???
    Always use this forum for everyhing;;;;such great guys/gals;;;
    best blog online by far;;;never,ever been loosed down on here;;straight talking, that,s what I like;;;Checking out sky, via my grandson,s discount, they are expensive at my exchange;;;for the package I want;;;don,t want TV just, BB, Phone, anytime calls, line;;;;Apart from speed and this logging off issue, I,ve had no trouble with AOL, and If I have phoned them , they have always been very helpful, except this last time;;more interested in flogging me new router/contract/line..
    I don,t think there,s an ISP that will give 100% satisfaction;?:beer:

    At the end of the day, no-one can tell you what to do joe, all anyone can do is to give a point of view on the options available to you, at your location on your exchange. It is a rather complex picture, granted, but only you know exactly what's important to you in how you use the phone & 'net, and it's you who's going to pay the bills :)

    Personally, I wouldn't go for a evening & weekend calls package, neither would I take a less than 40GB data allowance plan either. Both dictated by how I want to use both of these services.

    I also want/need to tweak my broadband, as I'm so far from the exchange, every little extra bit of speed I can squeeze out of my line the better. This also limits my choice of router, as the available tweaking & line monitoring tools only work with certain ones - it just so happens that of the few that I could use, after trial and error, I've got the perfect one that suits my line conditions.

    So you see, it's VERY much an individual choice, and geared around many factors. I probably wouldn't be so bothered about my router choice if I could get 16Meg due to being closer to my exchange, but would still wish to monitor my line's conditions and performance.

    Good luck whichever option (and you are lucky to have many) you choose :)

    I think you need to gain more of an understanding of how broadband, routers and wifi work....despite the efforts of some posters on here, that basic knowledge is still not there as illustrated by the statements quoted. It will help you in the long term, honestly......

    (and no this was not a sarcastic post, it's just stating facts :) )
