Hermes Couriers

My dad works for Hermes and Ive been out with him on numerous occasions. IMO hermes parcel tracker and customer service on the ends of the telephone is carp however my dad is always praised. He gets his parcels out everyday without fail, he delivers to all the tiny remote villages around us come sun, wind or 2 feet of snow!! He's always on time with his parcels and if for any reason at all (such as me being rushed into hospital) he is going to be late he will give the customer a courtesy call to inform them.
Yes there are going to be a lot of carp delivery drivers, tbh from what I gather there isn't much an of interview process, but you are going to get the good ones aswell. Its just unfortunate if they fall in your area. If your delivery drivers are bad then compain about them. They always deal with customer feedback be it praise or otherwise.
Thats got to be what... 80-100 people?0 -

I don't consider my garden to be particularly secure- I wouldn't leave anything easily removed and of any significant value out in the open for any chancer to happen across, despite the fact there is no access, and I certainly don't expect someone entrusted to deliver me an item I have paid for, regardless of value, to do so on my behalf. As far as an item being hidden- popping something behind a wheelie bin on the main access road to a school of 350 pupils, is hardly hiding the item. The driver was contracted to deliver the item to MY ADDRESS, not somewhere in the general vicinity and hope for the best.
Finally, I'm not an electrical expert, but I do know that stereo systems contain small, fragile and somewhat temperamental components. I wouldn't choose to deliberately drop this from my head height onto the floor, and frankly, if I did do so, I wouldn't expect it to work properly afterwards. Therefore, why should I, or my partner, accept someone else doing so with our equipment? It is a basic common courtesy, I would have thought, that if you are employed to deliver packages, you do all you can to ensure the goods arrive in optimum condition. If you don't, I'd suggest you're in the wrong job...
Agree. Entirely.0 -
Ooo, looks like parcel throwing man has another of my packages. This one is electrical, so if i find this in a pile outside without seeing him deliver it will be going straight back again!0

Didn't even bother delivering this time. It's lost. Time to ring Amazon and get it sent via a proper courier!0

I just checked my mandmdirect tracker and it shows my parcel was delivered to my Porch by Hermes 10 mins before I arrived home.
My Porch has a front door on it and was obviously locked as I was out so I just called mandm, they didn't seem at all surprised and just said they would send me a form to sign. How do these people get away with this, there can be no other explanation other than they went to the wrong house or just kept the parcel. MandM can't / won't phone the delivery person and I now don't have time to replace the items by Friday.
Avoid Hermes at all costs!0 -

Why don't you leave your porch open to receive parcels when you are not there? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I assume you leave all your doors and windows unlocked to receive parcels...? You live in a crime free area...?
My front door is locked, yes. I can't see why I would need to lock my porch, if my front door is securely locked. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
