Have to be honest and say never had a problem with Hermes deliveries (next) over the last few years, most weeks my Wife has deliveries and collections on time. Deliveries can sometimes be delayed if the goods have not been despatched in time.
  • Hermes are rubbish!
I had one parcel left outside the front door in pouring rain and so I had to return the goods because they were ruined, not to mention that it was lucky that the parcel wasn't stolen, three days later there was a card posted through the door to say that they had attempted a delivery, but there were three of us in the house and neither the bell rung or the door knocked
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Where would you have preferred it to be left and it wasn't stolen, was it.

This confuses me? Why would the courier bother to put a card through the door, if you were in? Does your bell work?

They are lucky they even get a card!

For the last 18 months my courier has been lieing to the various companies, updating the parcel status as attempted but nobody home. Now 90% of the times Ive been home and shes not even put a card through the door.

Monday , I was home all day sat in the living room so I could see the front door as all my parcels were showing as out for delivery. At 2.55 Yodel came, then when I went back to the computer at 3ish it was tracking as delivery attempted at 14:57! Now I know she never came but neither Hermes or the catalogue was interested.

When she finally showed last night I told her I needed to refuse delivery of 2 parcels as I had no use for them now and she went mad at me, spoke to me like a piece of crap. Ok shes busy but you dont shout at customers like that.
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

Who else will you buy from?

lol, there's more than one company that sell TV mounts, so maybe Play.com as they offer the same items for much the same cost.
  • Delivery arrived at 13.33 but they still managed to deliver it to next door not me.

I called h&M to arrange a collection of a return last tuesday

was told it would be Friday by hermes, I said fine
Friday 6pm comes and no collection so I call H&M to be told
oh well when we say friday it could be up to 48 working hours after, did no one tell you that at the time...
    surprisingly no they didnt...
fast forward to today still no collection 3 working days after friday to be told, oh well they probably wont come now as they are busy ?!? !!!!!! ?

they have now emailed me a sticker to put on parcel that I have to take to the post office my self.
I asked what to say if the courier does turn up... "just tell them they should have come friday" was the response...
they are also sending out some sort of voucher to me by post (prob with a minimum spend attached) but was told it happens quite often.

needless to say, i wont be using H&M or hermes again through choice

Although I understand it can be annoying, I would imagine that for the couriers and the suppliers, the deliveries are of a higher priority for them. You only have to read some of the posts on here that they are struggling to keep up with demand for deliveries, let alone collections. Have H&M cancelled the collection?

I really understand how customers feel when an arrangement is broken, it's very inconvenient but Hermes have let the couriers down and good couriers with years of experience have found it difficult to cope(no idea how newer couriers have managed).

Hermes have taken on so many contracts(I'll say it first, not the customers problems)but with no company plan to cope with the volumes.

My volumes increased to an impossible level and I was left to cope(Hermes are under the self employed umbrella), it means your employed by the company (dictacting) but alone if things get tough,
collections had to take second place.

I thought they would have at least taken the pressure of by being the office and dealt with customer problems and explained it was not a courier problem but a greedy(they could use their own definition) company problem.

I've had a few people recently like you whitelabel not many thank goodness, but glad your getting a voucher, so sorry you have to go to the post office yourself, free post though that's good news.

I will say a few people on my round have also been told to send the courier away in this off hand way they don't and are shocked by the companies suggestion.
I've also heard from other couriers it has happened to them, they still take deliveries to those customers but they don't do any extras for them, strictly 8am -6pm. I totally agree with that approach.

Couriers do have to hold things back, under time pressure I have customers who need guidance with returning their items, takes time but that's ok, traffic problems thats ok, customers not in that's okish if they're in the next day or let me know.

I was delivering a parcel to a "lady" who works at my city council office yesterday, while I was waiting at the reception desk for her to come down to sign, she poked me twice in the back saying you should have been here yesterday, it took a lot not to turn around and poke her in the eye. Hermes told her I had her parcel and hadn't delivered.
