Hermes Couriers

I would like to say thank you eschaton (Hermes courier here) for your post, not many people take the time to post good honest experiences. It's not all about uniforms, I know some aren't suited and booted but offer a good service(quick note I do shower and dress smartly myself)but understand some can't afford to dress well or drive nice cars(wages aren't good).
Not a problem. I am never slow to slate poor service but just as quick to appreciate good service.
I thought I had to speak up after a bit of the slating Hermes have taken here. There will be bad couriers and good couriers, just like good and bad staff at your local Tesco or anywhere else.
I do like courier companies that look for secure locations as there is nothing worse than a returned parcel and needing to travel up to 20 miles to collect from a depot - ala Shittylink.0 -
I agree Eschaton -my Hermes courier is excellent - comes out to me in the sticks in all weathers, is very pleasant and helpful - guess it depends on the actual courier?0

Certainly does depend on the courier, my last one was excellent. The one I have now leaves a lot to be desired4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

It certainly does and when you're lucky enough to get a good one you treasure them
Mind you, that goes for customers too in my experience, there are good & bad ones there too“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
I can't claim an issue (yet) with Hermes. However, this status doesn't seem logical to me:
Date Time Status
29/12/2011 11:20 Not Received by Courier
29/12/2011 05:37 Out For Delivery
27/12/2011 22:04 Hub Sorter Receipt Scan
27/12/2011 17:25 Order Generated
How can the order be out for delivery before it's been received by the courier? Doesn't seem right to me.0 -

It means it's out for delivery to the courier but for whatever reason the courier hasn't received it.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

It is probably that the item has either not left the depot (i.e. got left behind), or it has been misdirected. I would imagine it is likely to turn up tomorrow. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Just another one for the list. Hermes should have delivered 5 parcels on December 16th (Christmas presents). Webpage says "out for delivery" still. Emailed Amazon yesterday, had replacements delivered this morning by Royal Mail.0

So what does the status read when it is 'out for delivery' to me? To the uninitiated (i.e. me), this status indicates it is out for delivery to the customer.0 -

I think it's something like "received by courier."The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
