HERMES are terrible. I ordered stuff from NEXT at Christmas and I'm STILL waiting for the items to turn up. Had all sorts of problems with them (which I wont bore you with).

Lesson learnt is don't use any company that uses Herpes...urrr, sorry, meant Hermes ;)

And it hasn't occurred to you that it might be Next's own distribution that is the problem?
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark
  • Quick question, who in their right mind would throw a box covered in fragile tape over a seven foot high wall and leave it in the pouring rain?

    Answer; A Hermes Courier
  • A LOT of things have occurred to me during this entire farce.
Next are far from blameless, agreed. But Next arranged a personal delivery/collection and spoke with the actual driver yesterday to deliver 2 items and collect 1 from me yesterday after 5:30pm - and they never turned up again!

Is your address a name, or a number, or both? Is it down a difficult street to park or manoeuvre? Is it new and the postcode not registered yet? Is there a street with a similar name in the local area?

Nope. A normal residential house on a very accessible street. Have lived there for 13 years and never had any problems like this before.

UPDATE: Have spoken to NEXT again this morning - their 'customer relations management team'. They're fed up too and are going to send the whole lot out via a totally different courier! Fingers crossed this time....

Did they say who? From what I understand they don't have any other arrangements with another courier company.

Nope, not yet. They're going to let me know this afternoon. Seems that they can use another courier though if they have to.

No they won't, they are hoping the Hermes courier will have delivered by then. ;)

Kind of makes you wonder if they talked to the courier or not, really.

Oh dear, you could be right! They've not phoned me back!
  • Or it may be that Hermes don't offer this timed service in 1st place?Lots of Hermes couriers are regular people delivering in between taking the kids to school and doing the shopping.Calling back after 5.30pm is in the domain of a premium service, not something Hermes offer.
