thanks for that - no I did not use spaces , however have just logged on and signed up with no problems so must have been one of their glitches.0

Call18866 on NTL is sometimes useless. I made several calls earlier today but for the last 3 hours I have been getting an error message "You have entered an invalid number" .. but I have not !!!!
The same happened a couple of weeks ago .. infuriating .. but service returned a couple of hours later. My phone works fine with other carriers. There's a lot to be said for reliability, even a a higher price.
Call 18866 : SORT YOUR SYSTEMS OUT
Have others experienced this?0 -
Working fine for me today though one call I made the other person experienced a delay.
Cheers

The problem with dialling out to any standard UK land lines from Call18866 over my NTL cable phone line has still not been corrected. The same happens with 1899. It rings 8 times then I get an Error Message saying "You have entered an invalid number" .. but I have not, and I have tried to call lots of different UK landline numbers. My phone works fine with calls through OneTel or NTL.
Has anyone else experienced this since midday today? Could NTL have blocked calls made with the 0808 access numbers through Call18866 and 1899 ?0 -
Call 18866 and 1899 service has resumed on my NTL cable telephone line. It was apparently a fault at Call18866 and 1899 (same company) which they emailed me to say they were working on.0

I have been told that NTL are offering FREE line rental for 12 months to certain cable customers.
With this, and the 18899 override, in theory you should be able to drop your phone bill to nearly nothing for 12 months...
I have yet to have this confirmed I hasten to add, but I thought I'd post it anyway in case any NTL customers had come across it. There may be a tie in for a further year, or you might have to take their TV package... (yuck!)
As soon as I find out anything more, I'll let you know.
Martin - have you heard about this?
Yes I have also been told this by a computor techie but i have not confirmed it however I should know by the middle of this month when I receive my bill as I changed my Broaadband from the TV setop box to a Broadband modem but still retained the phone connection and have had to start as a new account tied to them for 12months that was not a problem for me. when the account comes I will be able to see if calls have benn charged for, so will keep you posted

The latest piece of paper I have tells me that 18866 now has a :o 3p
connection charge. 0 -
Nothing on the website about this and I just checked my account and all calls made yesterday were UK calls charged at 1p for the connection.
Interesting to note in the FAQ that AOL block 18866 as spam and therefore you cannot sign up to them using an AOL address.0 -
