They used this method when I got a contract a few weeks ago, however the amount they debited and then credited was only £1.

This is entirely different to what the OP is asking about.
    I suggest the OP asks phones4u. :)

the method u asked for is not avalible at p4u...

The user a few posts up, they take one pound, then refund it to check your identity and your adress....then they do a credit check. Its subjct to credit check if you get the contract or not.

P4u and companys alike, when they give a contract if the customer does not pay there first 6 bills they get fined. So they loose what they made and possibly more as they have lost a phone in the process as well. I believe the period is shorter with p4u but its longer with small retailers

Bought mobile on contract from phones4u in August, today its stopped working, so its 2 months old only. They have offered for it to go to repair but this might take months and we cannot have a phone in the meantime but we still have to pay our contract.

Ive had a look online and there are so many complaints about the repiar centres taking 2-3 months also demanding payment then refusing to give the phone back until paid etc

I want to demand a new phone, what are my rights? anyone know can I demand a new phone within this time?

  • contact the handset manufacturer.

    they may be quicker.

  • I have two 'gold' mobile phone numbers, which I was using for business. Naturally I don't want to let go of them. Phones4u told me that I could port my O2 number to Vodafone if I rang Voda after connection and give them the PAC.

However, to my horror,, Voda don't do temp no.s!

I rang phones4u and exclaimed that the contract was misold so they put me on Orange 8 months free 12 month contract, but in month 9 I could renew with phones4u and they would pay off the rest of the contract!

    Nicee :)

BUT, will my quidco money be validated for my Voda contracts because they're now terminated??

I spent 20 minutes talking to some dizzy girl in customer queries trying to get her to put me through to a manager! No chance! Nobody at phones4u house had heard of quidco :) strictly MSE!:money:

Any advice on my rights to speak to a manager?

Also I need to return my U600's :(

Anyway to get out of it? Surely they belong to me because it was a gift to try and get me to buy a contract??

Advice on all this please
  • do I have a right to speak to the manager?
